My new AI system is for most part in place. What I have done is changed my AI to have more randomness. How i did this was on the initail attack it goes into a randomized mode/state. Of course more modes, rather goofy, or serious can and will be implemented. Here are the basics however.
Power Mode:
-always teleports behind when you dodge
-increase strength
-knockbacks
-if you are too far away it will teleport to you
Block mode:
-enemies can block(not randomly but purposefully)
-iron shell ability-becomes almost invulnerable for a short time
-increased defense
Energy Mode:
-enemies have increased energy
-enemies can shoot projectiles
-when hit they will sometimes back away and gain distance so they can shoot in some projectiles.
Suicide Mode:
-will say some depressing or dark humourical saying before exploding themselves in blood on the first hit.

These AI dudes sound like they are going to be OP as hell, I already had trouble against them when I played during your testing weekend and that was before these upgrades.

the ideal is to keep it engaging, at a moderate difficulty.
I still will do stat adjustments. For example currently you start out with twice the hp you did during that weekend. More stats adjustments and finding that perfect balance will come. This system was made so that first itll be funner with random AI states, the second is that you can run into easier AI modes such as the suicide one that just kills himself, and harder ones such as the block mode. So between different enemies of the same model might pose different levels of difficulty. And therfore my theory is that it will provide different levels of engagment. |
I don't know if classes were in the game during the test weekend, but a big part of why I was getting whooped is because I was classless, so that might make a big difference.

yea i know a lot where confused on how you obtain classes. When i release it ill make it a lot easier. It also didnt help that my classes where bugged out for a day, because of something i changed last minute and didnt test.
Thats the thing, once you get a class these enemies become easy. So i need to find the approximate level I believe you will obtain a class, buff the enemies from that level and above, and nerf the enemies below. Or i could even make the AI react to specific class abilities to even it out. I want to make it more engaging than just punching a log but I dont want to make it as hard where you cant win just from regular enemies. I want you to be able to take down maybe 5-8 enemies before you than need to go search in grass for some health. |
