I don't think anyone is going to listen to your ideas if you are not even going to participate in them.

We should all band together, all developers, all artists, everyone. Let's produce a group of hundreds with no leader and only specific modules of tasks to complete to achieve one goal.

EA Games? Is that you?

Anyway, a large group project isn't a bad thing...but no one here is a professional who has experience coordinating huge teams, I can't see this type of project going anywhere unless the scale is more realistic..

You should have realized from the get-go that this isn't gonna go anywhere. It's an entirely volunteer effort with no sense of direction. Yes, you'll make a game but you haven't decided on the details of the game. Not to mention it's impossible to find pixel artists worth a damn without spending money. In addition, as you've no doubt told others on this website, you need to source outside these forums if you want any hope of getting something done.
Im wizard, and a ninja. We going get this through.

You need more than a lot of developers to make a good game.

And I'm willing to bet an overwhelming majority of programmers on BYOND have no experience properly working on a large-scale project with dozens of other programmers (ie, version control).

In this case a couple but well-learned and experienced programmers would do infinitely better than 10 mediocre programmers.
F*ck this shit! I am in, might as well do something with what I have learned over the years, though the question remains, what to do?

At worst I might learn something new.
Hey Look! It's Taitz! ....so taitz my good man, when is your resurrection successor coming out? :O (or was it not that? i'm unsure what exactly the last project i remember you posting about was intended to be, but it looked pretty cool :D)

Edit: Ah nvm, thats what became the Theogany Hub that i've just now 'discovered' right?
Eitherway man, that is looking swell right now. What can i say... it's just, real swell xD looking good so far.
Well the Theogony is kind of the spiritual successor of it in a way, it also has procedural generation for the world, so it is pseudo-infinite.. as long as you go out, just have to add new biome types and such and they are pretty kewl can do multiple dimensions as well.

Just lacking motivation to work on it these days. Most of the trees and flowers and stuff are placeholders and all, but meh, not exactly what we are here for right now.
I would be willing to help, I am still busy promoting Immortal Dream, however I like the idea and if you need another programmer you've got one. :)

Resume:

Completed various small games on byond, have created dozens I haven't released (yet) I have been learning the DM language for years and I work as a IT Tech with alot of downtime to spend on projects. I love byond and want to see it thrive and would help in anyway possible. If you need examples of my more recent work let me know. :)

Disclamer I can't draw for the life of me.. However my sister is a great artist and may throw a icon at me or two. :P

Also, Do we even have any ideas for a game? o.o
Good luck.

Start thinking about it in this thread.
This is a good idea.

It showed up as Kappa on the BYOND pager and for a second I thought Kappa really worked here. I was slightly ecstatic. Also, include your ending apostrophe on your link there.
Every time someone suggests banding together it ends up with everyone debating the logo for a week then forgetting about the project.
Project management is hard. Especially when you're working with hobbyists who can and probably will drop out at any time. Or random people with undefined skill levels.

This kinda grab bag style of selecting workers is probably doomed to fail for these reasons. Not to mention there are even more hurdles to cross because now you have to make sure these random workers can work together. There are even more skills you need than being able to program a game or draw well. Now you have to follow conventions on style and learn how to resolve issues on multiple ends.

Just saiyan.
Super saiyan!

I am still up for this thing though, I can do pretty much anything, since I have always worked alone, from management, pixel art to programming, the exception would most likely be audio, while I could manage somehow, probably, still not my thing YET.

Motivation Level Up +1! yeah!?
