BYOND Build Number: Version 443.1022
Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP, Version 5.1 (Build 2600.xpsp.sp_2_qfe.080814-1242 : Service Pack 2)
Video/Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GS
Game Hub/Link: Multiple.
Internet Connection Type: DSL (Wireless, i believe)
Firewalls/Routers: Using Router Linksys (WRT54GS); Kaspersky Security System
Problem Description:
I have been trying to host a game for a while, and i have followed a lot of instructions, setting up a Static IP and all, but in the end, i get the message:
"BYOND Hub reports port -insertnumberhere- cannot be reached by players."
I know i have managed to host at least once or twice before this incident (though it's been a long while).
To add on, i've used PFPortChecker to check a ton of ports. NONE of them are open, as it says.
I've even tried flicking somethings on and off on Kaspersky Security (except, "Enable Protection" along with some other crucial ones.), yet, none of them seem to help it.
Is there any possibility that a solution can be reached?
Steps to Reproduce Problem:
(( Actions done before/inbetween/after failures ))
1. Portforwarded
2. Set up trusted on Dream Daemon.
3. Set up trusted on all BYOND programs.
4. Set up static IP.
5. Re-Portforwarded.
6. Used PFPortChecker on A LOT of ports.
7. Gave more freedom to BYOND programs, even to the PFPortChecker.
8. Checked even more ports
9. Tried multiple hostable games.
That's all i've tried in basic.
I've also tried using both hosting options (Dream Daemon & Dream Seeker).
Once again, is there any possible solution to this, or is there any further action with Kaspersky/Portforwarding/etc. that i need to do?

-Simple check... As in, a scan by Kaspersky, or...?
-Disabled and tried: No such luck. -I have checked, and i have seen my standard windows one off/ Kaspersky off, and it doesn't change a thing. Edit: I've checked the Router Firewall. Everything's set up like said in guide. I've followed the portforwarding guide. Even the Static IP one. I do not see any errors yet. Edit: Also tried seeing if ports are open - None have been told to have been open, even with Kaspersky turned off. |
Disable your firewall and host for a minute.
If that allows the outside world to reach your game, you know where to search.
If that did not help, it is likely either something wrong with port forwarding, or you are running more firewalls than you are thinking (e.g. the windows standard one, or one run by your router).
