How would you get a company like funimation to allow you to make a fangame of theirs legally?
I am using the name funimation because I cant think of any other company now.
Would you just email them and ask for it.
Or is there more involved?

These companies will not throw their brands around to just anybody. Especially a well known name such as the Sims. EA does not own the rights to the life simulator genre. Just go ahead with making your game, call it something else, and I am fairly sure you'd be fine. |
Correct me if I am wrong, but it usually includes a contract agreement and more than likely, you'll end up having to pay to use the copyrighted work.
I did a quick search and from what I can see, you'd contact their legal ([email protected]) department. To save you some time, you will not get the rights to use their work.
