Trouble hosting.

Hello,
I've been having trouble hosting for quite a while now, and I've finally have gotten around to asking for help. =).

I'm not connecting to the internet through a router though I am hosting an access point. Through this computer. I have also tried disabling my firewall with no avail and opened ports. Please help.

If you have no router, why are you port forwarding?

No, it doesn't sound like he is. He's opening the ports on his software firewall (which is what he would want, over disabling his firewall completely).

Check and make sure there isn't some other firewall still running (like windows firewall) or anything else that would be denying access to any ports. You could also do a bit searching for a port that you aren't using that shouldn't be blocked by anything.

Yeah, I couldn't host one time and it was the simplest thing: the Windows Firewall was blocking outside connections.

Windows firewall is off.

the "customer port" option, and see if your chosen port(s) are being blocked.

To allow exceptions in Windows XP:
Go to the Control Panel and view it in Classic mode.
Open the Windows Firewall, then make sure that "don't allow exceptions" is NOT checked. That's what I had to do one time when I couldn't host. That fixed the problem when nothing else seemed to be causing it.
