Nope. You've had to have a plugin to save them -- otherwise, it only saved them when Firefox didn't close gracefully.

Not if you went into "about:config", it was an option. Also if you tried to use tabmix plus's tab save feature, it would ask you if you would rather use Firefox's. It was there, just buried.

I think the reason for that is that because Firefox loaded so slowly to begin with, Mozilla didn't want it to slowdown Firefox any more than it had to. Tab saving is lame anyway, so I wasn't too concerned.

I don't think it's the newer OS being any less efficient, rather than Microsoft trying to force people to move to the new software. Let them ramp up the requirements, but they should continue to support at least two previous generations of the OS.
