Necromancy It's going to be far simpler than I planned at first, since I have a habit of biting off more than I can chew, and I think I've done just that. Don't expect much. It's going to suck, at least at first. It's my first game. I hope I haven't cursed this project by talking about it before I've started working on it. |

An important point of difference is that Zork was a text adventure. Story is a bit more integrated into a game like that. In more action-oriented games, story can be secondary or even totally irrelevant. Many, many games from the '80s gave story an "eh, what the heck" shrug-off, writing anything that sounded vaguely plausible enough to explain the gameplay. Modern games have gotten way too obsessed with cinematics and voice acting, and less concerned with gameplay. Lummox JR |
