Can move to 4-5 megabits per second. I can't wait till it comes out.
Any thoughts on this?

I'm more interested in WUSB. If WUSB works out it'll be great. Just imagine not having to actually connect my iPod, mouse, keyboard, joystick. Just having them in the area of the computer, and not needing a million wireless receivers.

Yeah I have a thought, I just recently bought a computer that was only a year old and it only had 2 front USB 2.0 ports. all the rest of them (6 in all!) in the back where USB 1.0.
I have even found some modern, out of the box computers that still only use USB 1.0 ports. So I am totally wondering when USB 3.0 will become any sort of standard, and when hardware will start to require it. A good example is, my friend bought a USB external HD unit, and it refused to work with his PC because he had USB 1.0 |

Really? That's bad design on the hardware makers part. USB 2.0 is fully backwards compatible, and unless the developer did something to break that, all USB 2.0 devices should work on 1.0, and all 1.0 devices should work on 2.0. And following this pattern, we can guess that all USB 3.0 devices should work on USB 1.0.

Perhaps, but at a incredible decreased speed rates. A controller designed with USB 3.0 in mind, but not function properly, or even has fast as it should with USB 1.0

Okay, I know I'm nitpicking here and your example was purely that- a hypothetical example, but the only controller I can think of that might need USB 3.0 (or even USB 2.0!) is one that plugs directly into your brain and reads your thoughts. =P

As technology progresses, we have to prevent old technology from being a bottle neck. USB 2.0 is pretty good as it stands, mix that with gigabit ethernet and you have all the speed you need for current technology, but technology moves fast, and bandwidth consumption changes quickly. Imagine, if you will, the output of a HD camera. The amount of data being sent from the device to your computer can be quite large, even if it isn't being stored(Used for, say, a webcam, or being put into RAM for further processing). Even USB 2.0 can be a bottle neck in this process.
