If you need to forward some ports but can't/don't want to, you don't really have much choice.

One solution is to set up a hamachi network, but it requires everyone to get hamachi and join the right network- the host and the players. It's alright for playing with some friends but if you want to host a public server for strangers you're mostly screwed.

What part are you specifically having problems with? Do you get stuck half way through (if so, where?)? Or do you do all the steps and it doesn't screw up?

The problem is there's not a lot we can do for you here. We're not port forwarding experts and the tutorials work brilliantly. I'm pretty stupid and I got it working- I'm sure you can, too.
