The trailer is pretty nice. I guess Blizzard did not rest for very long.
I don't think they ever rested :D

Who cares Warhammer Online will be out around the same time. :)

I'm quitting WoW and moving to D&D online. Blizzard still yet to drastically change or even improve gameplay. They're a disgusting, horribly managed, inefficient company. They're simply releasing this expansion pack, despite the fact that few people are even close to Black Temple nor will be once it comes out, to make money, and they don't even try to hide it. So, i'm out, they can kiss my money goodbye, and I encourage all other players to quit as well, D&D here I come, I hope a group needs a Cleric out there!

But there's no need to be in order to enjoy the features of a new expansion pack.

First off, you would be surprised at the sheer amount of people who are maxed out in levels right now and all they can do right now is just sit around, increasing their wealth or PK'ing because there is level limit. There will be a lot of people buying the new expansion pack simply to get more levels in.

As for D&D online, I like a lot about it and I dislike a lot about it as well. D&D online needs more classes, classes like the Monk and Psion. They could also do with a few more races, where the hell did Half-Orc go?! I'd like to see pets put into D&D online as well.

Besides that, there isn't any decent PK on D&D online. They have the bar fights, but those aren't any fun for me, and they don't serve any real purpose. They need to install some sort of arena system so that players can win prizes.

Not to mention even on my crappy PC I can run World of Warcraft just fine, with Dungeons and Dragons Online, I can barely even run it with the lowest settings possible and don't even get me started about the lag in town.

Agreed; you can literally buy a $339 eMachine desktop tower at Best Buy right now, load WoW on it, and it would play.

Aye, but they're being denied the chance to enjoy the content at a difficult level, no one will stay 70 till they aquire all their items.
In response to Darkdemonrad
Dark you are so, so wrong. There are many people who will purposely stay at a level for all sorts of reasons, maybe a event has a level limit, or they are more intrested in doing something else. There are a lot of reasons actually.

Blizzard must be doing something right, to have so many subs, if a couple people leave, who cares they would get the same x2 in about a week. So go blizzard
In response to Darkdemonrad
It's not like we're talking about a release two weeks after Burning Crusade. If a player is that hardcore I don't see why they wouldn't already be at level 70 with almost all their items by now.

I don't think so, especally if there is something special people want to get. My friend was hunting a mob with a special drop and the drop rate was like 1.2% and other people were looking for it as well. It tried for two weeks without any luck.

Ha. Sorry to break this news to you, but businesses like making money.
What are you? Totally ignorant? There are going to be players who are going to benefit from the expansion pack, there are people on World of Warcraft who are completely maxed out, epic level characters who have nothing to do.

Oh wait, I know, we should take into consideration all of the players who can't even use the expanion pack right now and wait just for them, right, right?! Forget anyone who could benefit from the new expansion pack.

Get over it and get over yourself. No one is making you or anyone else buy the new expanion pack. They aren't twisting your arm, forcing you to pay for something you might not need, but others might. If the expansion pack is ready, then release the damn thing.

You know what? All this stuff you guys are saying doesn't mean a thing. because Blizzard is getting richer by the minute as we speak. So that means (gasp) PEOPLE LIKE IT!! To be precise, OVER 9MILLION PEOPLE STILL PAY FOR THIS GAME!! Oh and you CAN find something to do. Have you heard of RAIDS? 5 on 5 battles, soon to be a DEATHMATCH RPG kind of game. So I think there is more than enough to do on WOW than what you say.

Well it obviously isn't. Btw, it's not like the expansion is coming out SOON or anything. I've heard it won't be out until like....January 2009. PLENTY of time for people who know how to get to level 70 to make 100s of level 70s with the best EVERYTHING! I know plenty of people right now who have multiple level 70s, and actually working on getting more.

Even in that amount of time any 1 person could make 1 level 70 and get everything they need. Btw, anyone wanna bet they're gonna keep releasing expansions until level 100 is the top level? It's rather probable with this 2nd expansion. It reminds me of Seika....kept making lots of add ons until it became impossible to be doing well.

Supposedly, level ups were pre-balanced around a cap of 100 when the game was made, so probably.
It'd be nice if they took the old LV60 raids and fixed them up as LV70 5-man instances. It's easy as pie to hop into the Looking For Group system and get into a 5-man but I don't like the idea of trying to schedule myself around 24 other people people for a raid, nevermind using a random group of people...
You're mistaking beating this content and getting this gear as the end of the game, and something which must be beaten before beginning the next expansion.

Most players don't play enough to care about the end-game material. They'll have a dozen 30-50 level characters before they have an epic level 70. They play at a rate that makes long, raid based dungeons completely out of the question.

End-game fans seem to see the expansions as just a new peak for their characters to climb to, while the rest see it as new content throughout the game.

Wait, are you ignorant? There are few who have maxed out there gear and gotten to smack Illidan in the face. The guilds on my realm have just entered the temple. Do you even play the game? Do you have any idea what the majority of people are currently doing? There is still raid content that plenty of people need/WANT to see. And its not because they are slow, it hasn't been LONG ENOUGH. The guilds on my realm were in Naxx just like the majority of other guilds. Their progression is only slower than the super hardcore guilds like Death and Taxes..So don't go spouting nonsense. The only people who benefit from the expansion are 70s who don't like PvE or PvP. They just like to level.

[edit]
To back up facts, why don't you try listing all the guilds that have finished the temple. So far, I have
1: Nihilum - Horde, Magtheridon EU
2: Forte - Alliance, Kazzak EU
3: Last Resort - Horde, Kazzak EU
4: Curse - Horde, Vek'nilash EU
5: For the Horde - Horde, Destromath-EU (German 1st)
6: Death and Taxes - Alliance, Korgath (US 1st)

Wow, SIX WHOLE GUILDS. Thats definitely the majority of people. So 25 people per guild (on average, sure more people run) times 6 guilds comes out 150 players. 150 players over blizzards ~9 million worldwide subscribers turns out to be close to 0.0017% of players. Of course not everyone raids, but still, what a nice number.

Yeah I used to play every day after work for several hours and almost all day long during the week end. I played the game. A lot.

Let me ask you this, why should I even care about player based Guilds doing something? Why should I care at all? I mean, it isn't my problem, it isn't any of my concern. Hell even listing those guilds holds almost no argument at all. There are tons of guilds per every server. So until you go on each server and talk to all of the guilds to get a good estimate, I don't want to hear about it.

People aren't forced into buying the expansion packs. They can slowly play through anyway they want, those areas and raids are not going anywhere, freaking relax. I see no reason why you would even be angry or upset about another expansion pack. You need to explain to me why. Because right now I see no good reason at all. People are free to buy the expansion packs at their own leisure and enjoy any aspect of the game at any given time.

You keep mentioning these raids and stuff and I think to myself, why, why would you? That is only one aspect of the game. This might come as a big surprise to you, but a lot of people don't even get involved in raids. I know people who have played up to level 70 who has never been involved in a raid.

Even of the expansion would only benefit people who enjoy leveling, who are you to tell them that is wrong? Some people play the game simply to level and you got no right telling someone how to play the game, more or less telling me, Blizzard or anyone else how to run a company. I doubt you have any experience in running or maintaining a multi-million dollar company, more or less even knowing what anyone except yourself wants.

Stop mentioning PK as well, since not everyone is going to get involved in that and considering that there are both PK and Non-PK servers, it isn't even a valid argument. How about you stop being a emotional idiot and give me some good reason why a new expansion shouldn't be released.
