I was at my Library, looking around for a C++ book, and I stumbled upon a book called "Game Programming for Teens with C++" or something like that. It uses Dev-C++ for the compiler, a program called Mappy for making the maps and such, and something called Allegro(I think its a library). Does anyone know if this Allegro thing is good?
Wow, prue coincidence..I decided to start learning how to program allegro in Dev C++ today..Weird..Anyways, I'm not qutet good neough to say if its any good or something, but its supposedly capable of making 2d AND 3D games..

Nah I just downloaded off the internet. I found a link to programming languages some months ago, but I just decided today to actually start again today. :P Here's the site I use : http://www.cppgameprogramming.com/cgi/ nav.cgi?page=allegbasics

But if you're considering some other engines, here's another link I found : http://www.thefreecountry.com/sourcecode/games.shtml
