What do you guys think will sell more? The Wii or Halo 3?
I would guess a game console will have more sales than a game.

Well, yeah, it originally was supposed to be Wii vs 360, but they think because of Halo 3, it will 'ruin' the Wiis sales.
In response to Dead_Demon
They think that about the PS3, too. I r laugh at Microsoft. Halo might be a pretty big title, but it's nowhere NEAR the size of Mario, Zelda, or a dozen of Nintendo's other titles.

God... Not another console war thread.
In response to Popisfizzy
Nah, they'll close this before it gets too bad(I hope).
In response to SSJ2GohanDBGT
Yes, I hope so too. I didn't want to bring up the older one, though. I dunno if it is even locked or whatnot, but Im sure they'll close this thread before it gets like the old one(hopefully).

Either way. I've already got the 360, and I plan on buying a Wii :D I need my Mario Galaxy.

What's so good about Halo, i understand that its an alright FPS game with multiplayer thats good to play if you have friends around but apart from that its a generic shoot em up game. As for story line, the first one was alright, the second one i could never finish as it got too repetative.

Because it's the first "good" FPS for a console. If people played a PC console before Halo they wouldn't be so quick to say that Halo is "good". That all it is, they are too cheap to realise that you spend about the same money upgrading thier PCs as it cost to get an Xbox360. If they have an OS(Windows NT, Linux, or even MacOSx) they could build a pretty damn good PC with that 300-400 dollars they are saving by not getting a 360. It's funny I never meet someone online in any FPS game that was under say 12.

People also have a problem with not being able to play multiplayer games in the same area, using the keyboard to play a game (I personally prefer a console controller to a keybaord, though very limited, I know...), and Steam. Steam handles a lot of the more popular games.

Steam is crap. You can't even play an offline game offline. Take CS:S with bots for example. hl2.exe crashed everytime you try that. Or HL2 itself. I can never get that to run in offline mode. I'd imiagine it's like that for all offline games.

Additionally, most people won't even know how to upgrade their PC, place parts in it, or anything. they'd end up spending more money hiring a professional. Those with little knowledge of the subject trying to do it themselves might end up breaking their PC by sending ESD through it or something.

To the point, I don't think it's too fair to compare a game to a gaming console. Considering previous sales for Nintendo console products and the Halo products and price, I think Halo 3 will sell much better.

I agree steam is crap. And about not being able to install computer components...http://www.pcguide.com/byop/ byop_Chapter2ComponentOverview.htm
"Building a PC is simple. If you can plug a power cord into a wall socket and you can turn a screwdriver, you have all the skills you need to build your own PC. If you can turn the screwdriver the right way half of the time, you can become a certified PC repair technician." It isn't that hard. All you do is find a decent site that sells parts, newegg.com being a good one. Than read the reviews about the part and they will give you a good idea if it is a realively good part or bad one. Than all the person needs to do is touch bare metal first and than put the part in and/or take the old one out. The hardest thing to replace is probably the CPU and that's not very hard at all.
Anyways, not all mainstream FPS for the PC are on Steam. Quake 4 and Battlefield 2 are not on steam. BattleField 2 is very popular mind you. Quake on the other hand is slowly dieing, which I don't want to see happend but meh.

I used to agree, but lately it's been working awesomely for me. If it crashes, then that's just you. If it's giving you an error when trying to play offline, you need to save the steam info locally. Then you can disable your internet connection and it will fallback into offline mode. Did you even goto the Steam Support forums and look for a way to fix it?

Bullcrap! What about 007: Golden Eye? Perfect Dark? Conker's Bad Fur Day? There were plently of good FPS's out for the Nintendo 64. I never owned a Playstation, but I'm sure they had a few, too. 007 might have been somewhat lacking in graphics, but it was great for its time. Perfect Dark was just plain awesome, especially the multiplayer (Which was one of the first games I played with good computer players).

Rather, the one of the first "good" FPS for a console to have online multiplayer. The ones for N64 are pretty good.

I'd say thats pure bull. Halo isn't that good of a game and plus its just a game; not a console.

What about DOOM? I own that for Atari Jaguar!
This is a stupid thread and a stupid idea and everything that this is is stupid. Neither the Wii or Halo 3 have been released, so all you have are rabid fanboys gnawing at eachother's legs. How about you wait until you have a factual basis for your opinion before deciding it?

Also this is a stupid idea.
You're trying to compare two different things, with two drastically different prices.
Yeah, the Wii will sell more then Halo 3. A console will sell more then a video game, as stated before.
