i just tried to download AIM and my comp doesnt meet requirements.I deleted all the useless files that were taking up space on my comp.It still says that i do not meet the requirements. What should i do?
It would help if you could list the requirements it's talking about.

Your computer does not meet the minimum system requirements to download and install AIM.You need a minimum of 128 megabytes of memory(RAM),97 megabytes of disk space, and to be running Windows XP or 2K.

Okay. So which of those requirements don't you meet?

You can check how much RAM you have by right-clicking on the My Computer icon and selecting Properties. You can check how much disk space you have by right-clicking on your hard drive and selecting Properties. And I hope you know which version of Windows you're running. =) (If not, check by pulling up the Start menu.)

..i went to my computer...properties is nowhere

Are you sure you right-clicked on the My Computer icon?
In response to Crispy
ok.Hard Drive is located in the start menu, right?
In response to Dragon_fire6653
Usually not, no. Double-click on the My Computer icon and you'll see a list of your drives. The hard drive is usually the one labelled C:.

Wow. All that for a instant messenger? Has the world gone crazy, or are system power whoring programs all the rage now?

Gaim has the power for AIM and more. Why not use it?

i can increase my RAM by deleting more stuff, right?

No, you will increase your disk space. Are you running on windows XP or 2K? If you're running Windows ME or 98 then go here and get this AIM instead:

No.

You can increase your available hard drive space by deleting files, but the only way to increase your RAM is to buy more RAM. If you want to get more RAM, I suggest you find a computer shop that will do it for you.

Or, as Smoko suggests, you could use Gaim instead: http://gaim.sf.net

That's a bit more appropriate. But for more effect:

^Only replace "MSN" with "AIM", and the logo.

*Don't bother with that, it's more for a laugh than anything.

Oy! Don't confuse the guy further. He's practically technology-illiterate (no offence intended), and you're not helping. Ess tee eff double-yew.

haha.

I thought twice about posting the link for that very reason. But, I thought adding that "*" would be good enough.

Define more, it has less (if you discount that it can use more then one network). but at the same time less bloated.

Call me superficial, but Gaim's buddy list was enough to make me uninstall it and go back to regular Aim. I just didn't like it. :/

AIM suits me just fine for what I like to do, and that's IM with an occasional direct connection to share weird pictures. :)

When was the last time you look, last time I did, it was actually nice. They had a major update a little while back, I would venture to guess that you would like it more now than back when you tried it.

When I say more, I mean being able to use more than the one IM service.

Bloat?
AIM:
System Requirements
• Windows: Windows XP, Windows 2K, XP 64 Bit
• IE 6.0
• 128MB RAM
• Macromedia Flash
• Microphone/Speaker or Headset for Talk functionality

Gaim:
I can't find any specific details for it, but it ran fine on my old P2 355MHz with 64Meg of RAM. And the installer for it with GTK is only around 7meg.

Please tell me where the bloat is.

hmm, lets reword what i said...

Gaim has less fetures when you discount the fact that it can use more then one network. AIM is however more bloated.
