Ummm don't know if this is the place too post this. Wasn't sure so sorry if its not the right place.
Any way I had an idea of having awards given out to creations made within this year. There would be certain catagorys for the awards. Like "Most Creative Game".
Then people could add a game to one of the catagorys. Then there would be a voting of all the different people. Winners would be announced at the end of the year.

Sounds like a good idea, any perks for getting the award besides the satisfaction of winning? Perhaps a free year subscription to BYONDscape or something along those lines. Sorry I dont have any money to offer a prize like that. The only thing I could offer is the satisfaction. I was kinda hoping gughunter would offer certain free subscription prizes. But that is totally up to him. I wouldn't submit a game, well because I have no programming skills, but I'd love to help, maybe get rid of the rest of dimes and people could cash them into paypal or something. One way you could help is vote on the categorys when its possible. Im not too certain on any details yet. I just wanted to get a clue on what the other byonders felt about the idea. I'll start working on a webpage. |
I think the Idea is great. Yeah maybe a free year of byondscape but if not I like satisfaction.

I like it. "Net Dream Awards"
hmmmm...Get a good set fo rules down and make it an official part of BYOND, with its own .byond.com website or something. |
The staff have enough to worry about right now. =) Let them concentrate on BYOND 3.5 (and eventually 4.0) first.
I do like the idea, but judging might be difficult. You'd get a LOT of entries, and it would be quite subjective. Multiple judges would be required to handle the load, and they'd all need to be trustworthy. Having multiple people judge multiple games is a must. Prizes would be nice, but the prestige would probably be enough to "sell" it. |
