I was going to continue off the other "Alien Vs Predator" thread but there were 40 replies and didn't want to bring that to the top of the forum. I myself havn't seen Avp, due to I had to work this evening. Planning on seeing it tommrow. I am surprised someone hasn't said anything about it by now. So those who have seen it, is it good and worth seeing? I'd like to say no spoilers but they are usually a given in this type of thread...

I heard the story blows, but the action scenes are cool (what'd you expect?). I want Predator to win, and I have a feeling they will since it is their training facility and they have their own little devices for if they ge tinto trouble.

Well the overall general idea of the plot is pretty basic and well known. Scientists discover a pyramid under the ice in antartica, its 1000's of years old. They discover there is a race of 2 species in a war. They get caught in the middle of it. They try to escape(I think). I want to see it, just because I like vs movies for some reason. I wish Alien would win.

I LOVE the vs movies too. In FvJ I wanted Jason to win. Freddy was an evil little character, when Jason was just a sad story and you feel sorry for him :P

I liked how that movie ended up. I find those movies more comedies then anything for some reason. Ironic with that movie, I dozed off when watching it one night again. Never saw Freedy, so meh. I'll hate vs mvies once they come out with "Superman Vs Batman" Haha...okay back on topic with AvP >_>

Well, you know it's goin to hell when they start making "Catwoman vs Gigli". :P Sadly they might end up making spiderman vs daredevil for soem reason, since it is a popular comic :\

The difference between AvP and most other versus movies, is that AvP actually has a large basckstory and an immense series of literature/games that have developed it. The entire idea of AvP was actually birthed years and years ago with DH Comics, and then novels came out, then games. With these other versus movie ideas it will just begin with a movie, then they will make crappy games and the such.

Alright. I went and saw the movie tonight. I won't say any major spoilers. The movie overall to me was good, and worth my money to see on a Saturday night in my free time. Neither of the species were overpowered, so its not like you knew who would come out on top just by the fighting scenes. The last end of the movie might seem kinda cheesy because of the senario setup for the end isn't realy something you'd expect, but its needed for how they set the movie up. If your a fan of VS movies, this is worth your money to check out.

- SPOILER WARNING! - The movie sucked, what do you expect from a film that has been way overly hyped? You begin to expect TOO much from the film, and what do you get ... ? A sappy, stupid story about some chick and a bond between a predator, and which really incredibly cheesy at some parts 'round the movie. The action scenes were good, but they were often repeated and scarce, since there was only a couple of predators in the movie, there was only a couple of fight scenes in the movie, go figure. The movie was decent because of the story.. Everything falls into place to quick, you can figure out whats going to happen in the next scene before it does.. If you like a movie that you really have to guess at or puzzel your mind around don't see AVP. If your in it for the action, Don't see AVP. If your in it for love and drama.. ''Hot sex with Aliens!'' Don't see AVP.

I must be easily entertained then =P The way things happend had to happen due to the way they set the story up. The Predator and woman part was the one that did get me though. I didn't expect anymore, or less from the movie.

I saw it the day it came out and i'm unimpressed. The ending sucked, and its easy to tell the writers are alien fans. It had a few okay fights but everything was to predictable. I guess you can say "They tried"?

In the comic book series, one of the main characters is a female who ends up being accepted by the predators and put into a hunting group, she creates a friendship with all of them. This all works out until she decides to stay on a planet with other humans to help them rebuild.

Saw it last night; I was satisfied. It got really cheesy once she killed the alien, by accident no less.
