Hello I just got a dsl today and when I tried to log onto trillian it seems to be not connecting i dont know if the service is down or my dsl can't run with trillian.

Odly enough I seem to be having some trouble logging into any byond hosted games and such. I was woundering if my new dsl connection could be cause the byond trouble too and if they are connected in some way? or is the byond service down as well.
Nah, it's gotta be client-side... BYOND's and AIM/ICQ/MSN/IRC/YIM's protocols aren't linked at all.

So its my new dsl thats what I thought. I think the dsl has a firewall of some kind could that be whats doing it. and if so how the heck do I make it so I can run byond in trillian with the firewall still in place?

Do you use a router? Those are infamous for causing such problems =)

Yes My dsl does have a router... I just read some post on byond by searching "dsl problems" It was said that you should do port forwarding which seems to be in my documentation that came with the dsl. But it looks way to confusing for me.

[EDIT] I'll include the information about adding a port forawarding from my documentation.

1. From the Choose Protocol list, select TCP, UDP, ICMP, or GRE.
2. If you select TCP or UDP, select a service from the Choose Service list. - or - Enter a port number in the Port Number box.
3. If you want inbound traffic forwarded to the SpeedStream router, select Redirect selected protocol/service to this router. - or - To enter a specific IP address, select Redirect selected protocol/service to IP Address and enter the address in the text box.
4. To save your settings, click Apply.

Ack, I can't help here. I have absolutely no experience with hard-ware firewalls included in routers because I have a HUB that contains no internal firewall capabilities. =(

No but did you try the proxy setting on your trillian program because im pretty sure that lets you use it with a firewall still on.
