Say if i downloaded LimeWire
and i downloaded lets say, "Get Low" by Lil'Jon and burnt it. Would i be doing anything illegal?

That is what I would like to know, because I might download LimeWire and some songs and burn them, but I dont want to be performing anything illegal.

Well, I have a friend that downloaded limewire and downloaded 14 songs on one cd and burnt it. Now, it sounds like he wouldnt seem to care even if he was doing something illegal. But, I do. That's why I asked this question in the first place.

You're downloading music that has a price on it, for free. It would be illegal.

Yes.
If you want to download music legally, might I suggest iTunes? Songs are 99 cents a pop, and buying entire albums reduces the price somewhat (more if they are old albums). |

I thought it was closer to "personal use" was totally 100% legal, wheras if you took a mp3, burned it, and played it for the public, it would be illegal.
