Why did some people say Budokai was a gay fighting game and mortal kombat was better? of course if you are a fan of DBZ the game can't very well throw in a new character, because the anime is over 10 years old and therefore guess what, IT'S STORY LINE IS PRETTY MUCH ALL KNOWN AND TRANSLATED FROM JAPANESE. I for one was happy that a nice looking dbz game finally came out in the us. all i've had up til now was final bout, which was beautiful, but the fighting was kind of slow. this game never made it to the us unfortunalely, but i got mine from a feral website. another dbz game was ultimate battle 22, but if youve played that then i feel sorry for you. it looked llike a two year old with two fingers and a crippeled left arm drew the game sprites. hyper dimension (for the snes, also never made it to usa) was an awsome dbz fighting game (some people didn't like it , screw them in the a@@), but almost all of the new dbz games are based off in in some way or another.
basically, i think that any fighting game involving dbz will be better then any other fighting game (excluding Ehrgeiz) because dbz has characters from something, where games like mortal kombat have arbitraraly mad up characters that don't make the game any more fun, and always leave me wanting to kamehameha them to hell and back. (i.e. you know you like dbz too much when youre' like "big deal. so what if he knows some martial arts? what a weakling, i think i'l blast him to hell. oh wait, i can't.....)
oh well, stop saying dbz games suck people, because you are only saying that because you hate dbz. i did too until i ACTUALLY WATCHED IT WHAT A CONCEPT! I BAD MOUTHED IT BUT I NEVER EVEN SAW IT. WHEN I WATCHED IT, I WAS LIKE "THIS SUCKS". THE NEXT DAY: "THIS....SUCKS....". THE NEXT DAY" THIS.....SUCKS?" THE NEXT DAY " THIS........WORSHIP VEGETA."

Because in their opinion they like Mortal Combat better.

no, i meant that some people just hated it because it was dbz and for no other reason. but that's ok, it's not like i'm saying you have to like dbz. some people dont' even like anime for that matter.

Some people not only dislike anime, but hate it with a white-hot passion. That'd be me.

I won't go into the reasons here nor argue my point of view, as that'd just be a waste of time. But yeah, people have all kinds of different opinions.

To my mind, if you can stand anime, then it couldn't hurt to check something like DBZ out. As for me, however, I'll keep my distance.

what do you hate about anime? do you just not like it in general? i mean, i'm not trying to impose anything like im the one whose right, and everyone else is wrong, so i'm just curious. i want to know why you hate it so i can think about what might be wrong with it and prehaps your opinion will change my mind on anime.

If you like anime, then I don't think my reasons for hating it would impact you. But they almost entirely boil down to the style of figure drawing and the quality of the animation (including frame rate). I've never observed any examples of anime, even the so-called "good" anime, to transcend visual crapdom.

Well, in my opinion, I am looking forward to Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance more over because I've been a hardcore Mortal Kombat fan for quite many years now.

Truthfully, I believe that Final Bout is the worst fighting game ever made.... eck, horrible memories..

another dbz game was ultimate battle 22, but if youve played that then i feel sorry for you. it looked llike a two year old with two fingers and a crippeled left arm drew the game sprites.

I for one liked the sprites in UB22/UB27. They look really awesome compared to the Final Bout piece of crap.

hyper dimension (for the snes, also never made it to usa) was an awsome dbz fighting game (some people didn't like it , screw them in the a@@), but almost all of the new dbz games are based off in in some way or another.

HD was too clunky and the graphics were too... bleh.

Eh... umm... okay?

ah just disregard that madness, nothing matters.

hail eris.
cause budokai has no room for improvements...they cant have DBZ BUDOKAI 2 with some new characters...if you exploit every character in the 1 fighting game you cant have a sequel...for me nes fighting controls doesnt cut it...i would rather have to press a series of buttons to do a 8 hit combo that looks good not press 2 buttons and have a 500 hit combo with 250 of the same punch and 250 of the same kick...plus an inseanely large energy blast...mortal combat deadly alliance has many features...over 600 specials to unlock with a unique unlocking system involving a "krypt" and buying stuff in it for "koins" 3 different fighting styles for each character including a weapon style for you to master...great graphics...finishing moves...and "konquest" mode.

I, too, like DBZ. I have a story. I'm sure some DBZ fans will remember it while it was on the WB11 some years back (I think that was 8 years ago or something). They used some strange thing that doesn't even appear like the Cartoon Network DBZ slightly. I don't know what it was, I don't even think that type of DBZ was in Japan. Then, 2 years ago, I watched on episode of the Cartoon Network DBZ (Cell Saga, when Goku sacrafices himself by taking the self-destructing Cell to King Kai's, for those who care) and immediately got hooked. Since then, I have watched all the sagas from front to back (except Saiyan, which I missed, and Buu, which isn't completely out in the U.S. yet).

The show that aired on TV a few years back was not DBZ, but it was Dragon Ball...the series that came before DBZ...

Before they brought DBZ over, they tried with DB, and aired the first 13 episodes in a horrible timeslot with rather poor results...

Luckily, though, they decided to plug on, and switched their tactics to dubbing DBZ...and it became a megahit...

Luckily?
In response to Garthor
Yes, luckily... If they had not taken the risk on DBZ after DB initially flopped, we might not have it dubbed, and I'd probably have never had the opportunity to get into it...

Of course, you're not a fan, so it's not lucky for you... But for us fans, it definitely IS lucky...

I don't know... I checked it out and there's nothing gay about it... it's just a stupid DBZ game. It couldn't be any less gay if it tried. What a huge disappointment.
