What Constitutes [Popularity] ?

My game has been out for about a week now and it's sat in the same spot under Casual the entire time. So.. I'm wondering what constitutes popularity?

The game only one above mine has 39 downloads whereas mine has 92 and has had around 12 players join a server so I'm seriously wondering what is going on.

I think popularity is all about Favorites.
If you want to climb the ranks you need people to Favorite your game.

Is a being a fan the same thing as it being a favorite or are those separate?

I'm unsure, but I am fairly certain that only BYOND Member favorites count.
