By the way, your 192.168.15.(etc.) isn't your computer's IP address. It's the IP address that your router gave you.
And I'll need clearer information if you want help. |

Also, I can't host either, no matter how much I port forward, or create static IP's. I found a couple of years ago that, for me personally, it only worked if I followed the instructions up to, but not including, the part where you set it to static. For some reason it just broke the whole thing, so I left that out and it worked. |
192.168.XX.XX and 127.0.0.1 are best known as 'internal IP address', meaning those in your Local Area Network (LAN), including yourself, can connect with that IP. People not in your LAN cannot connect via internal IP
The IP address you need to give must be an 'external IP address'. This site can help tell your external address: http://whatismyip.com |

I didn't make a static IP myself manually. I went to the Command Prompt, typed in "ipconfig /all" and looked at the last 3 digits of the IP address shown.

Interesting. I'll try that out during the summer when my parents won't be (as) mad if I mess up our internet.

As of BYOND 4.0, world internet_address shows the external IP address of the host. The full address including the port is shown in Dream Daemon.

Use proper grammer and no caps maybe? Also, one question mark usually indicates that you're asking a question. Good job. If your gonna correct someone's spelling and grammar, spell it right. Anyway, your hosting on a forwarded port thats in the high thousands, and the router's IP address matches the one in Internet Connections? (or something, via Control Panel) |

Oh, I'm terribly sorry I spelled grammar with an a instead of an e. Just as a small estimate, everyone that isn't an english major/cares a lot about grammer makes that mistake. Small mistakes don't matter, as long as you can convey what you're saying without replacing an "ait" sound with an 8. Smartasses like you are annoying.

Also, I can't host either, no matter how much I port forward, or create static IP's. It could possibly be your modem (I think that's my problem) or anti-virus. I'm pretty sure some anti-virus programs block connections no matter what. When I got my new computer it came with Norton Internet Security. I had already configured my router properly, but I found that certain apps Norton just wouldn't allow to connect properly at all, no matter what I tried. Eventually I turned the firewall portion of it off and used something else instead. Lummox JR |
