What makes a coder a newb, normal, or advanced?

Damn you. I had just found it after going through every post of his in the wrong thread. Of course the post that links to it would be the post on the very bottom of said thread.

[Edit]
Though I do have one problem with his post. In there, Lummox states this:

Can develop new algorithms based on old ones or the underlying theory. (E.g., an advanced programmer could figure out from scratch how to do 47-state autojoining turfs, though it might take them a while.)

I've developed a 47-state autojoining system and one to produce icons for it, but I'm no advanced level programmer. Of course, I should look at the qualifications as a whole and not individually, but still, this irks me as doing it wasn't too difficult.

Either way lets get a new discussion going on what the general populous of byond thinks makes a newbie normal or advanced coder

Anyone with any sort of logic is going to agree with Lummox's statement, as he and Shadowdarke are probably tied for being the best programmer in the community.

Ok cool so lets wait and see what people have to say

I am GhostAnime and I agree with Lummox JR mentioned.

I developed 13-tile autojoining but I'm sure not an advanced programmer. :P

Aye, neither are very difficult. I'm not quite sure why Lummox picked out an algorithm like that.

This is almost a Developous-like "discuss! DISCUSS, DARN YOU!" type of situation.

Basically, we've already had some really good discussions where many BYONDers have weighed in, and we encourage you to go read them in order to get our opinions.
