Propobly BYOND bug, try getting different build
|
It's probably an issue with your Program files folder. Try Reinstalling BYOND in C:\BYOND instead. Also, you could try checking your used space on your hard drive. You might have filled it.

is your hard drive full o.O
is that what you mean when u said adding memory, or were you talking about ram |

hard drive space isnt full or nothing, and that the message it shows on byond itself, not anything i said myself.

Did you try reinstalling BYOND in C:\BYOND instead of C:\Program Files\BYOND?
It's probably because you don't have permissions to access Program Files on your user account. |

dude, im using admin account + my specs r ok, just for some reason getting this message, and it only happens on the series of Resident Evil games.... but i wanna be able to play them....any reason it would show this msg, anyone know?

Is the game trying to save outside of the BYOND directory? If you are playing on protected or untrusted mode, this might cause this error. Try switching to trusted mode... If you really trust this game.

dude, it saves via byond folder, but also, it is in trusted mode, so i dont know, i restored so im fine now, but i dunno what the problem is.

ive tracked this down to being with only when running Windows Xp - with SP2
when i uninstall sp2 it works, but i dont want to run my system without xp2, so there needs to be a fix... |

Sounds like a problem with your system not BYOND -- I'm running WinXP SP2 with 256MB of RAM and I've only ever gotten this problem when I'm running a bunch of other programs at the same time. It also happens when I run a fullscreen game or program while Dream Seeker is running because those generally take up all of my video memory.

i dont know whats wrong but it cant be with my system, something sp2 changes or something causes it, since when i uninstall it, it works fine, but the second i install it, it wont work anymore...
also, it is because not all computers are the same, and bugs can happen on certain computers, it just needs to be fixed instead of dismissed since it seems to only happen sometimes, or when lots of other progs r running... |

If it's only happening to you in this instance there's no possible way for us to fix it, since we can't reproduce it. And since it is only happening to you it means there's something on YOUR system causing it.

yah, something that cant be fixed be restoring my comp, since ive tried that already, so something on the byond end needs changed.

Why do we have people that don't understand that we need a full bug report to even help a little. Try making one or at least put your specs here. We don't care if you think that they are good enough, we want to know. |

When you're the only one that seems to have an issue, then the issue lies solely with you...
If it were any other way, there would be more people with the same problem... BYOND can not be expected to track down and fix every single little issue with every single little variation from user to user... If it works for the vast majority, there's no error on their end to fix... |

The only thing I would say differently is that there could be an error if the minority all are very similar and have the same symptoms. |

Yeah, but not when there's a minority of one...lol
The problem here, though, is that this issue is far too specific... I mean, he mentions that it only happens when playing some Resident Evil games, and only when he's on a specific computer running Windows XP and only when SP2 is installed... All of these extremely specific details narrow the problem down pretty darn securely to this specific computer, with those specific circumstances... When you're that narrowed down, it obviously can't be BYOND's fault... This same logic applies to that Pinkymcgee or whatever that thought she was banned from BYOND, but only with that key, and only on some areas of BYOND (hint: if you can post on the forums, you're not BYOND banned), etc... People need to understand that only the broader issues that are experienced by a decent number of people are to be blamed on BYOND itself... |
