Remember the old Toonami shows?

Yeah, I used to love my anime. There was a complete list of things for me to watch:
  • Reboot - wow I miss that show
  • DragonBall Z - was my favorite anime for a good while
  • Pokémon - I was into this for a good while, I remember
  • Ronin Warriors - I had nearly forgotten about this
  • Pilot Candidate - I thoroughly enjoyed this one; it came on Saturdays at the Midnight Anime thing or something, where they had the "not suitable for children" thing read aloud by the robotic voice...my key came from this one
  • Rurouni Kenshin - Who doesn't love a good samurai story? [EDIT] Also, forgot to mention that this eventually spawned my "Rurouni Dragon" key =P[/EDIT]
  • Yu Yu Hakusho - Hiei inspired my first key on BYOND, DarkHiei
  • Gundam Wing - By far the best of the Gundams; I had a nice collection of GW stuff
  • Wolf's Rain - Pretty interesting, I thought
  • Cowboy Bebop - Was good for the first few times they played through the 26 or so episodes, but then became overplayed


I don't watch anime much anymore, though; a general lack of quality probably promotes this, whereas in the case of Naruto I prefer to read the manga, and haven't really the time/patience to sit through nearly a half-hour for each episode.

Yea i remeber when it was toonami mid-night run. Also I all most forgot about Rorunin Kenshin (how ever you spell it)
they show had like one of the best story lines i know of.

Are the Japanese training to be heartless serial killers bent on world genocide? Because blood in anime... it don't go. Maybe my theory is why we don't get blood here in the UK (or US I guess)...

Blood is a touchy subject. A movie can easily change their rating from a NC-17 or R rating to something less by either taking the blood out or changing the color of it. Of course if it was a NC-17 movie, it would have more problems then just blood. (How Freddy Got Fingered was supposed to be a NC-17 at one Point.) Same can be said for for Video Games and Television Shows. If you even make the blood darker it will be OK.

They also used to play Tenchi Moyu(SP), Trigun, Card Captor Sakura, Gundam Seed, Dragon Ball, Bubblegum Crisis, Gasarki(SP) and Evangelion.

But you have to take into account, Australian toonami was different to american, you guys had all the good stuff. I only learned of Mezzo DSA and Peacemaker from an Anime DVD I stole off work. I'm very impressed with those two. Also another one I got into because of the nerd aspect of me was Serial Experiment Lain. It had me question one or two aspects of life by the time I was finished with it.

Pokemon show sucks, but the games still show some good life, they just need to crank out some new stuff; Ruby and Sapphire's contests were awesome because it didn't involve fighting like just about everything else. (It still kinda does (Fighting over the ribbon) but you know what I mean) and none of the other games had something as new in that way, except maybe Gold and Sliver's bug catching contest. I don't remember any others.




Either way, I don't watch cartoons anymore. All the childish crap and such.

Oh, right. I liked those two, plus Tenchi in Tokyo/Tenchi Universe, as well as a few more: Lupin III, Case Closed, and Outlaw Star. I think there were more still, but I can't remember. I don't remember that Gasarki show, or whatever you were spelling. If you want to go back to '97, though, The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest was a good show. I remember watching that with my old old Cartoon Network lineup (Two Stupid Dogs, omg).

toonami is changing too much!
i just heard cartoonnewtwork is getting rid of Ed Edd and Eddy (one of its longest running shows) and for a while it has been dropping the "classics". They are putting up gay kiddy shows ... AND WHO THE HELL WATCHES AN ANIMATED SHOW ABOUT TENNIS

Yeah. It actually saucks because I watch the old classics when nothing is on. But now I would have to get a new satilite package for the "Boomerang" channel which has them now.

I never liked Hanna Barbara Cartoons, so boomerang is a waste of money for me.
