One of the newest things they are talking about where I live down south is the new thing they are doing with convicts. Apparently a few jails and even prisons are taking on this new thing, where they allow the convicts to go outside for a few hours at a time to go work jobs.
This benefits the convicts because not only do they get to leave their cell for awhile, but they do it a little pay for it. Not only that, but apparently they can even work off extra time in the slammer by doing this. One would think that this not only helps the convicts but could also help the community.
Of course, that is what you would think, but that isn't what everyone else would think. Now instead of people whining about Mexicans taking all the jobs here in the states, now they whine about our own people taking jobs. How ironic is that? There was a news show on just a few seconds ago that was talking about how these convicts were taking jobs from good, honest community members. What the hell? Now even Americans don't have the right to work? And last time I checked, people didn't HAVE to hire on the convicts on, they are always free to make a different choice. People are just never happy.
I live in South Philly. Lol.. We're more like New York though..
