I came across this site called Cash Posting. Basically its a forum that pays you to post. For every post you make you earn 3 cents. As soon as you reach 15 dollars they will send you the money. There is a wide range of topics to choose from. So basically if you want a membership, all you have to do is make 500 posts. Thats 17 posts a day to get $15 a month. Or if you cant handle that you can always post about 6 posts a day and earn $15 in 3 months. Either way this is a good and fun way to earn yourself a membership as well as helping to support byond. Try it today: Cash Posting.

So I could do something like the make the send address of the money to the Byond membership address? I might try it..
Um, stupid question: How are they not going to go broke within two weeks?

It's possible that there are ways they can make way more money than 3 cents per post. Example: If someone says something good enough to put on one of those tee-shirts with the dumb sayings, the site claims copyright protection and gets paid for every tee shirt printed.

This is just a theoretical possibility, however. More likely, I think,it's some rich bored guy who wanted to see what people thought.

Perhaps it's run by a company that does other things, too.

Uh... the website isn't getting paid the 3 cents, they're paying the 3 cents. =)

Example: If someone says something good enough to put on one of those tee-shirts with the dumb sayings, the site claims copyright protection and gets paid for every tee shirt printed.

They would have to have something specifically in their terms about this, otherwise it would be illegal (as they'd be infringing upon other people's work). And I didn't see any such thing. (Not that I looked too hard, as I didn't sign up.)

This is just a theoretical possibility, however. More likely, I think,it's some rich bored guy who wanted to see what people thought.

Both of those are possibilities, but this kind of thing ("we will give you money!") instantly sets off my BS detector. It just sounds too good to be true.

It sounds like a websites scheme to get more people to go there so eventuallyu they will just come there anyway odds are there is no money but then again there could be who knows

It does. I'm not signing up. I thought of another possibility - they sell your email and telephone number to ad spammers and telemarketers. That's possible, though I'm not so sure about legality.

Maybe money from ads with the hits generated?

I looked again and still can't see it. Do you have to agree to the initial terms first?

Easy solution - use a free email address that's easy to discard, and don't give them your phone number. =)

Actually, the best solution with the email address would be to make one specifically for the site and then block all emails send to it that didn't originate from cashposting.com...

Anyway, I noticed that they mention ad revenue, which may account for how they can give away the money. The idea may be that the more traffic they have, the more ad revenue they get, which allows them to pay people to generate more traffic, thus increasing the ad revenue, and so on in a big cycle.

I guess that works. Quick!!! click on all the ads!

Ok, well:

1. They get there money from there sponsers, and the amount of money you recieve depends on how many people are registered and the money they are getting from there sponsers

2. There is a maximum of 40 posts a day

3. They have to be at least 3 lines long

4. You can only recieve your money(which will go into your paypal account, that you can then use to pay for a membership) on I think its the last 3 days of the month

5 From memory you didnt have to give your phone number

Didn't even get to sign up XD
Is the type of thing where you get paid for promoting something by posting and getting people to discuss it (AKA shameless advertising)?

Just make them dump it into a PayPal account you make. You can use an unverified PayPal account to pay BYOND for the membership AFAIK.
