I'm upgrading my PC with a new video card and was wondering if I should get a free driver cleaner from the internet or will uninstalling it from the device manager will be enough to prepare my PC for the new card?

You dont need to uninstall it as far as I know. You may need to for some cards, but I believe Windows automatically does it. If you have windows XP when you start up your computer if there is new hardware it will automatically detect it and then if it has drivers for it it will install it.

Use a driver cleaning tool first to make sure everything is out of there.Especially if your switching card types ati, nvidia

I've never had to; but then I've never switched brands, all of my graphics cards have been NVidia. (No particular reason or brand loyalty involved - it just turned out that way.)
You should get Windows to uninstall your graphics drivers first, though. |
