If I lose oh well. Just because I don't use it all the time don't mean I won't/can't be good at it. Plus I don't wanna get to the point where I can't win without snaking..That just shows how sorry a racer someone is..

Kirbytron gets my vote. He is truly the best.

It is a challanging skill to master and effectivly use which helps improve your race times. How is it different from using the initial boost, power slides, power slide boosts, items, or anything else the game has to offer? Someone who snakes good isn't sorry. It's the opposite. They spent the time to master a skill to help them compete. They are a good player. Imposing artificial rules(which the game doesn't impose) upon yourself just means you won't be able to play to your full potential and will lose and quite likely badly to someone who is willing to practice and master every facet of a game.

The game is still young and I bet there is plenty more advanced stuff yet to be discovered and I'm sure you'll scoff at it and call it cheap while the people who are practicing the new stuff will get better and better while you get left behind.

There is nothing wrong with not playing to win however don't decieve yourself and expect to be able to play at a tournament level with your mentality as until you break the shackles you've place on yourself you'll never get better at the actual game just your version with your own rules that only you likely play by.

Might as well proove how great you are at playing the game by refusing to race forwards as that is clearly cheap since it gives you an advantage and race backwards since that of course takes real skill!

Did I ever say it was cheap? No. You're implying what I did not say..I don't have anything against snaking. No doubt that its an advanced SKILL, but when it gets to the point that you are ONLY able to do snaking, you are a sorry player.

Like any skill you use it where it gives you an advantage. Do you hold out on powerslides or items because if you use them at every chance you are a sorry player :P?

Well then give me "Mecha Destroyer JD's Point for Dummies" so I can understand.

Snaking is not cheating, it's part of the game.

It's a skill.

What is your point? Are you upset that you can't get the hang of snakeing? Because otherwise I am missing it.

Some people argue the developers never foreseen the possibility of snakeing. Please, it isn't a glitch, its a natural part of the games' physics.

Its not cheating and its not cheap, its part of the game, its a skill, and you better get used to it.

A good player will not only be able to master these skills in the game, but effectively learn how to also counter other players who use them.

Snakeing isn't impossible to stop and there are tracks that make it harder to do it. So deal with it.

There was a track in Mario Kart for the Snes, where if you did it just right, you could jump almost the entire track..

If you are having a fit now about snakers, then you better stop playing at all, because its only a matter of time before someone figures out something even worse.

Next someone is going to say Drafting is cheap. jesus.

Stop trying to go by these made up rules in your head, or the only that is going to happen will be you being left behind in the dust.

What exactly is snaking?

When you go around a corner, while drifting, you continue to drift, and push from left to right until you spray out red sparks.

Release the drift and youll get a temporary boost, with some characters its as fast as a mushroom boost.

Snakeing is doing exactly a drift boost, but going down a stright road, if you do it right, without falling or hitting any walls, it looks like the motion a snake takes when it moves.

On some tracks, with the right characters, if your good enough, you could race like you had ifinate mushroom boosts the entire race.

Can you do it on Mariokart N64?

From what Ive been told, there has been power slides since the Snes..

Here's a video tutorial. Please turn off your speakers before watching.

It's helpful in explaining. It's too blurry to actually see how to do it.
