Well, I'm looking for a good forum service that is of course free. What would you suggest?

I have no problem with proboards. Apart from their horrible forum HTML out put. And the thousands of users that make horrible themes.
And no, I cant provide a better service. For lack of money for servers. And advertising, not to mention I'm not any good with PHP for lack of use. But, given the chance I would love to try and beat them. | |
Good and free dosn't exist unless it's beta testing for something that you are going to have to pay for when finished, there are rare exceptions for some things but not many and the ones that are good are hard to find.

Do you know what your talking about?
Linux, GCC, PHP, Apache, Doom, and a bunch of other stuff including BYOND are free. And great. It isnt hard to find good free programs. Take a look around http://sf.net for proof. | |
Yes, I am talking about all the free websites, free forums. All that crap, they are [poopy-doodles!]. Yes there are GOOD free programs, and quite a few. Programs are the exception.

All I want is something that is fairly easy to use, and provides fairly nice support when it comes to customizing the forums. Is that so much to ask for? =(

I have 10 GB of monthly bandwidth. I will host either a domain or a subdomain of your choosing (You would supply your own domain, of course!) You will be not be allowed to allow forum users to upload images/file attachments. If, within a month, there is no substantial activity (my determination), I will send you a notice, and then close the forum. Is that thar' fair? IPB 1.3, PHPBB2, SMF, PUNBB, or any other free PHP-based forum systems you would like me to install. ~Kujila | |
just because lots of people settle for proboards and the average joe can't provide a better alternative doesn't mean that it's a great service - which, in my humble opinion, it ins't.
