In the way the he using it, usr will always be him, and so having an extra variable would be a waste of space. And I only said if it is a waste of space if it is not neccesary; you are trying to use an analogy, but you are using it wrong. The question you have to ask is: "Why bring two maps when one already leads the way?"

Mayhaps one of the maps will lead ye to be swallowed by Moby Dick, or mayhaps it is enchanted so when ye attempt to follow the map, it be someone else who arrives at the X. |

If ya wants to make yer tub a wreck before 'er time, shove off and good luck to ya. But don't go teachin' lads to run aground right behind ya. Cap'n Lummox JR |

You are argueing against that is working. Now if it was not working, then I could see your point, but it is working. And so far, usr has always worked for me and I have never "wrecked".

If ya ain't yet, yer still just sailin' blind. Ya don't go sailin' off in a boat with holes, lad. Fix up yer ship before ya shove off, and plug up the spots where she's weakest. Trustin' to usr is fer sprogs an' squiffies, mate. Take it where it's good, in the verb, and send a safe copy to keep yer riggin' tight and yer ship seaworthy. If yer gonna be stubborn, go on, but convincin' others to follow yer course to Davy Jones be a bad piece o' business. Cap'n Lummox JR |

I am not trying to convince anyone of anything. I am only stating that it does work, and you should not try to impose things as "bad" just because it does not work in all cases. But in the cases that it does work; that will not change.

But once you make a change, any leaks you ain't fixed are apt t' spring on ya, and they'll make it hard to get back to port. 'S'why ya gotta patch 'em in the first place, swabbie. Cap'n Lummox JR |

Then you can make the change when neccesary, but it is pointless to do so when it is not. Although, you are not going to agree, nor am I going to agree with you, making this pointless now. So whatever you say after this, I am not going to reply anymore.

I don't know how long you've been programming seriously, but not for long obviously, considering you claim to have never encountered usr problems with as much as you seem to like to use it. Maybe one day you will understand just what usr is, where and when it gets its value, and why you don't want to use it.

If ya tugs one rope too far an' the others are all strung up shoddy, the whole thing can come crashin' down. Ye tie the knots sturdy and keep the riggin' tight, so if ya ever do lose a knot it don't cost ya the ship. Brittle code is fer suckers, lad, and it ain't no waste of effort t' make it strong.
