on material that isn't even yours? Why not make Flames Sage's Fantastic Psychic Martial Arts World instead of "borrowing" DBZ?
If you are going through the trouble to try and do it right, why not do it right? |

Put Sniper Joe ([some bad things I don't want to get in trouble for]) and his Dragonball Z game to shame! I'm with you 199% of the way! Go Flame Sage go! No, really go what are you doing reading this go!?

Predictably seconded. Hell, he could even make it an ego trip... have young warriors training to become Flame Sages. The name "Flame Sage" would very easily lend itself to the mythology/back story of some kind of high-energy, high-flying k/ch/qi-filled funstravaganza.

:P Jealous. If you didn't know, which you don't, I am not even working on Kaiku now. The new game I am working on, which me and Flame Sage are "competing" against, is going to pwn. Just wait.

Didn't Kaiku use those sprites I gave some guy awhile back? Or at least, they were edited versions.
I could always give Sage a head start and give them to him too. :P |
actually I am currently working on a complete remake of the gba game: Legacy Of Goku 2.
Its urning out well but I'm using the Legacy Of goku 2 icons/turfs. woops off topic.. anyway just do what you want, and don't let anyone stop you =). |

Agreed, and for another reason: Every other rip aspires to put all the others to shame. No rip "author" wakes up and says, "Hey, I want to make a DBZ game just as forgettable and faceless as all the others out there." Inevitably they do, and staleness of the material is one major factor. Lummox JR |

I’m hardly jealous, you are egotistic, and arrogant. Every time I've ever heard you talk it's about how you're an "expert coder" “one of the best one there is“, blah blah.
Have you did anything "expert." So, you made a Dragonball Z game, Zeta was made by Dracon when he was still a beginner. So you shouldn't get to high up on yourself... Also, I've heard you compare yourself to people, and say that you're better... There's no way to compare programmers, and say ones better than another. They all know different things. So, when you try, and say your better than me you're basically saying this, "I've only been programming for three years, but I know everything that Digital Samurai know plus more, even though he's been programmer for five." Which I definitely know isn't true. Also, nobody say it, I’m using his words not mine. Most people know that you can’t really judge peoples' programming skills on a level (beginner, intermediate, advanced) you can really only judge their work itself. So, in my opinion you are a stuck up little brat that can’t spell. What’s to be jealous of? |

Actually, Zeta wasn't made by Dracon when he was a beginner. DBGT Genesis was though, and that game was the first seriously ripped game on BYOND, for those of you that don't remember. Zeta came after Genesis, once the source was "leaked" for Zeta, the Genesis rips updated. Dracon really wasn't an outstanding programmer, everything he did was simple, but made to see much harder than it was. Anyone that says he was an expert programmer, really didn't know him that well like I, and a few others did.

<s>I never said Chris was an "expert" programmer. It's obvious through Zeta that he wasn't,</s> (fixed =D) and I did know him pretty good.
Heh, and nice word "leaked." =D ... |
Do what you want to do. If you don't follow your dreams because your afraid of being 'shunned' from a community, what's to stop you from doing that later in a real life situation? How many things would we not have today if someone hadn't done something against what society thinks, says, or does? I'm sure people here could start listing things off, I know I could.
Don't refrain from following your dream because of what somebody else says. To hell with what other people think, if you want to make a DBZ game with the ideas that every other one on the HUB has, go for it. |

I wasn't saying you called him an expert programmer, I was just letting anyone reading this know, that may have previously assumed he was. And yeah, I figured "leaked" would be a good word for what happened to Zeta and Genesis, seeing how I couldn't be serious if I said it was stolen or ACTUALLY leaked because most of us, deep down, know that's not what happened. Haha. Anyways, but on topic, Flame Sage I really don't think you should do this. Many people have sat around telling the BYOND community how they're planning to create a DBZ game that with put a stop to the rips. We all know that won't happen. Heck, if you do manage to create a decent DBZ game(possible?), then most of your ideas will be found in those rips within hours of your release. Honestly, it isn't worth your effort. Stick to creating original games, games that you've thought up. It's always better to be original, than to take someone's idea and based a game around it. Original games can be made much more interesting and enjoy, seeing how the players won't know everything about it already, you teach them about your game's plot and such through your programming, instead of the players already knowing everything because they've played the rips, actual games, and watched the series for years. Just don't do it, it won't work out, you can't stop rips. ... Unless you have a gun, and the address of each rip owner. |
No DBZ graphics for a DBZ game -- what the heck?
