All I can say is that this is one cool system that I'm definitely looking forward to. I thought about getting the Revolution, but the 360 snagged me after its premiere on MTV. Are you guys hyped about it?

Yeah, I just saw it on there I can't wait to play Oblivion, and The Condemned.

Some of the features look great, but too many things about it is already making me say "No way". Water-cooled CPU won't last a day in my house for one. Hopefully the controllers don't require batteries. Also, they made a large mistake releasing what they have done while their competitors are still at work.

Oh yeah, the "top of the line" hardware. That was a funny catch =P I'm pretty sure the PS2 has Dolby 5.1 and it's old. Also sort-of funny how they had to bring to light it can be used both horizontally and vertically.

All-in-all, I'm going to wait for the PS3 to be unveiled at the E3 and see what they have planned before jumping on anything. The things I liked were how it's going to be integrated into the internet alot more(though depending on who you are, that can be a downside as well).

Controllers I believe have built in lithium ion batteries. And when get low you can hook them up to a cord to recharge. While, or while your not playing.

That's good. I don't plan on buying one, though I would like to see how the internet interface and multiplayer works out on it.

Whoa, thats even cooler. Although I doubt I'll be gettin one at its release(got a DS last year), I'm gonna stick wit my plan : walk around da house yelling "Xbox 360" til my mom goes crazy and gets one. So far its workin...^_^
This is the most impressive technological jump in console technology in history. I'm definitely impressed, so impressed, I'll let the "XBox 360" name (travesty, rather) slide. I still would have preferred the Xenon.

By the way, Gohan mentioned a water-cooled CPU being problematic. Why don't you take a look at the boards they were holding up? The dual processors both quite obviously had standard fans in them, and I doubt the processors are actually "H2O" cooled, but rather a coctail of cooling fluids that won't boil off or evaporate.

Plus, look at the design of the console itself. It's got four legs, two on top, two on the bottom. The center of the console itself is lifted off of the surface on which it sits, that is, if you choose to stick with the horizontal layout (I personally am a horizontal-console kind of guy. What can I say? Every console before the PS2 was horizontal, and I owned about six different consoles... It's just more convenient for me.). This means that the fans will be able to draw in more air and less dust.

While Dolby technology isn't new, it is rather new in the gaming field. The XBox is the first mainstream console to use Dolby Digital technology. Not many games were produced to run on it, though.

Surround sound is far from new as well, but it is rare that gaming consoles launch with the idea of every game made on it using this kind of technology.

I'm waiting for the day that headsets become standard in videogames, even the single player ones. It looks like Xbox is the only console with that goal. I mean, what's cooler than playing HALO and hearing your command brifings over the radio in the Chief's helmet over your OWN headset? If you can find something cooler than that... Well, you won't.

I'm going to buy it on the launch date if I can.

By the way, the more I looked at that console design, the more I thought: "Damn, that is a sexy console!". Look at it! It's beautiful, it's slim, it's small, and did you see the launchpad layout? It's amazing!

Seriously, stability is a big concern here. Especially since they are adding feature they haven't gotten right on PC.

Hopefully their game library will be a bit stronger than the original; you can only play Halo so many times....

And the price tag isn't exactly turning me on either. Oh well, at least history shows that tend to drop within a year. Although, revealling so much too soon might prove a disaster if Sony springs something nasty at E3.....

Since when is unveiling the console to non-developers first a bad thing? I'm quite proud of Microsoft for not waiting until E3... They are trying to get the consumer interested more than the industry, a nice tactic.

Heh, I want the Nintendo revolution... tiny lil' bugger, I hear.

Just makes them vulnerable to competition springing stuff at a big event. In terms of publicity, that can sting. For example, say Sony and Nntendo figure up some flaws in the 360 and quickly put together some upgrades before E3. Then they can boast about their relative superiority.

Just a strategy thing.

What exactly is the estimated price, out of curiosity?

It'll probably launch at about $350-$400

They are planning to launch Halo 3 synonymously with the PS3. It's supposed to be a PS3 killer. It won't work.

SOny will come up with something better to reinterest PS fans. Like nude video's of Tifa.
In response to JordanUl
Or maybe Microsoft will bring out the tifa pictures.
What a coincidence that all 3 next gen systems have a topic...
In response to Mecha Destroyer JD
Uhh, why is this a coincidence? These are major systems that are coming out. People want to know about them.
