Yeah, you need a shell server. Look up that on the search, you might find a few free ones.

A shell server is a server you basically have access to to install and run programs on. A website server or 'host' is basically a pre-defined program etc. etc. and you can only use it to store programs and files.


Ponificus offer cheap shell space. (WE STILL NEED SERVER ADMINS!) so if you want a wee bit of space for a reall cheap price to host your game, just drop me an e-mail at [email protected] . I can tell you a bit more about shell servers if you want, and the other packages you can get on the internet.

Thanks, but I dont think Im willing to pay anyone for hosting, Id rather go and try to find a free server.

hyperBYOND is only free for a few more months. Of course, if they could maybe offer a free option like a lot of web hosts do, maybe that would work even though it would be slow.
Anyway, good luck on finding a good, free one and let me know when you do!

Try FrostMud, but the owner really is starting to want donations now that he's almost living on the street. (the server costs him a lot to run)
