These were two things that were said in chatters. I know I didn't get the quothe things but i swear these are 100% true.
I was playing chatters and everyone was having fun joking around until the topic of Goths emerged. I have loads of Gothic friend and immeadiatly went about defending them. Apparently I am supposed to accept that some people don't care about conformity and that how I am supposed to conform. Well what if I don't give a hell what anyone thinks I should do. People disgust me for so many reasons and I know I am not perfect but people come on...
I have an awesome friend who is the nicest person ever. You guys want to know why she is nice to everyone well it is because she loves everyone and doesn't like to get mad so whenever people get mad at her or when she gets mad she cuts herself. This morning I saw her and her shirt was soaked in blood. Her arms were cut so badly because of other people. I know this is the wrong way to express anger but she is doing it so she doesn't do it to you. People who hate goths are disgusting and are extremly insensitive so who gives a damn if no one likes what you like you dont NEED to conform.
All responses would be greatly appreciated, i know grammer is off cause i dont care to review it because i am frustrated!

People who cut themselves have no self control. "I can't help it" does not even come close to a reasonable excuse.

It's a mental state if you talked to the person I described you would know she can't control it she "I like it." well that is something she said. I know it's not right but the fact she does because other people have intolerance disgusts me!

Another persons feelings towards you should not effect your mental state in such a way as to cause you to want to cut yourself. What I just said was, in effect, they can't control you. I really dont care if she says she can't stop; she can. Another persons intolerance should not have such a controlling effect in your life. As an example of how foolish the whole arguement is, every social group has someone thats intolerant of them, to think that its someone only posed towards people that are "gothic" is downright foolhardy.
I get people who don't like me because I'm in choir, or people who don't like me because they think I'm a jock; no sports, I just lift weights a lot. Do I go home at night and cry? Do I go find a sharp knife and cut myself? No. You know why? They don't matter. They don't control me in any way, which brings me back to my first point about not having self control. | |

Well you see they are depressed which kind of isn't there fault and also your not them so you can't compare yourself to them you were raised differently and went through different things i understand your different but you dont have to compare your self to her anyways this post is getting off topic it was meant to be about prejudice against goths in general and why it isn't cool but apparently there are too many shallow people on byond that think wow goths are scary and i don't mean you jotdaniel.

I spose your right but this was brought up by the fact that people attack goths because of the way they act and stuff she is a goth and it triggered this idea n'stuff. Her blood soaked shirt was under her hoodie and i give her as much support as i humanly can i hug her all the time and tell her how i love her and dont want to lose her. She has been hospitalized a few times because of this thanks for trying to relate and it's not that it makes her feel better its just her way of expressing anger at other people at herself. I know it is weird but if you knew her you'd know she couldn't control it.

Oh, no, it is people like you. You have insulted most of the people posting on here about the same exact thing. Just end it. I never insulted anyone. I was not talking directly to anyone. This is not effecting her in anyway, she doesn't even know I exist. We are saying the samething over and over again, and so are you. She cuts herself, we know. Just end it. I have a lot of sympathy for her, but seriously, end it here. This is going to become a huge post about nothing.

It's because they're subordinant in their mind. They hate themselves so they are bent on listening to what they Think should happen.
They begin cutting themselves, and hold all of their hate for the world inside..and eventually it comes to a pleasurable feeling that people get addicted too. No one can say anything about cutting themselves unless they've actually done it. Seriously. | |
If you don't need to conform, then why on earth would you choose to be goth? Seriously. Goths need to look up what "conformity" means.
Forgive my bitterness, but I happen to like some fashions that are considered goth, and so when I go out I sometimes have goth after goth come up to me and tell me I'm a "wannabe" and "poser" because I'm not "doing it right," i.e., they see me, wearing the clothes I like, and decide that I'm trying to fit into their zombie, sheeplike clique of sad, sad conformists and failing. "We're non-conformists! You can tell because we all listen to the same music and read the same authors! We all dress the same so that people can tell that we don't care what they think. God forbid that other people not know how little we care what they think!" Your friend isn't sweet or kind to turn her anger against herself. She is stupid. It is stupid not to express your anger. Anger is a natural, healthy motion. Anger is often justified. It doesn't come from "not understanding another person's point of view." Quite often, the more you understand another person's point of view, the angrier you will get, because there are a lot of points of view in this world that are worth getting angry over. The "Why so much hate?" attitude is the thing that's hurting or even killing your friend. | |
Couldn't have said it beter. Goth is just another style, just like emo, the "prep" look, and whatever else is on the market right now. I wonder why I don't see any 30 year olds dressing up in black, pretending to be evil, and cutting themselfs.

Actually, cutting yourself isn't just apart of a "Fashion".
It's more or less apart of someones own pain within. Most goths aren't even depressed, and even more then that don't cut themselves. You're the one assuming that everyone one person is the same, well, you are wrong. Get over yourselves, get over america, get over everything you think is nice and dandy in your life; It's time to realize that this place sucks. P.S.
