During my time on BYOND i have seen many people become friends and start to trust one another, but this trust is usually broken by one or the other. I have heard many people on BYOND talk about other BYOND members "hacking" them and i wonder, is BYOND a gateway for hackers? I was also speaking with Phoenix man about this, clearly what he has done is illegal. This includes Theft and also virus distributing, but the question is will anything be done?

Phoenix Man is very much a wannabe hacker/programmer. He also classes memory editing to be "hacking". He also likes to claim that he makes a lot of his programs, but i havent seen one he has made. He has made some mini games using a drag n drop program though.

Yes but anyone can be a so called "hacker".Going to google and searching it and finding programs.Most people that call them self "hackers" have these programs which means they are'nt really hacking into anyhting.Just typing your email or what ever it needs to be done.

oh, and this is not 'hacking', but 'cracking'- which is considered an illegal activity he is pretending to do. yeah, yeah, i know i go on about this often enough, but i'm on a self-appointed crusade to fix this media-twisted definition. hacking is the effort of figuring out how something works, or improving upon it's existing functionality. cracking, guessing, using other people's algorithms/scripts/codes to discover passwords, or distributing viruses/trojans is *not* hacking. | |
