But the unpublished channel is one of the great things about byond. It makes the diffrence in other online game makers(what few there are).

So your saying Google distirbutes just about everything on the web? Because you can find links to it on there? Dantom is not at all responsible for the things people create. Its like sueing crayon company for making crayons a child drew a stick figure woman with brests with. It just doesnt make sense.

No, google is not at all responsible, because they don't SUPPORT the questionable websites, they only search.
Your statement is not quite adequate. The creation of the questionable projects aren't the issue. It's the distribution of the projects on BYOND. That is the main issue here. Instead of the child just drawing the woman with breasts, the teacher would have taken it and copied it, and then handed it out to everyone in the class. That statement might have been adequate for the situation, but would that really happen? The problem is the (either) willful, or unwillful distribution of pornography on BYOND, which is pretty easy to fix: Add a little link to an admin's e-mail, which should only be used for reporting pornographic games. |

Porn is removed as soon as we are aware of it. If you want to report porn, send email to [email protected]. |

http://games.byond.com/hub/Flick/ColoringBook Who undoubtedly uses BYOND because Daddy installed it, and undoubtedly never uses BYOND unless Daddy (or Mommy) is nearby. =P Also relevant is that when I was five years old, I saw a nudie magazine (tucked into a teenager's fort in the woods). I didn't even know what it was; it didn't affect me any because I simply had no idea. People could go on all day about pornography being a bad influence, but it's only a bad influence when people say it's a bad influence and people start pursuing it because it is. Now, I'm not condoning pornography, I'm just saying that it's a mostly Christian viewpoint to shun pornography. In any case, Dantom isn't responsible if people create pornographic "games" -- Dantom is responsible if it accepts them into official channels, because that signifies that BYOND is officially supporting those creations. |

I'm just saying that it's a mostly Christian viewpoint to shun pornography. Or for the most part, just about anything. Hell, look at how screwed up american society is because of our sex education programs. They said if you learn earlier, you will be more aware. The problem is not that there IS nudity and sex out there in the world, the problem IS that people are taught that sex is bad, and sexual feelings are bad. Whereas, what I have learned, is that they are part of the architechture of the human brain, and cannot be denied, thus: are not neccesarily bad. However, this does not mean it is right or wrong to have sex, once again, circumstances depend. Just be prepared to accept the consequences of your actions. For the most part, it is the people in controls' fault. And the people in control are those who put the package online in the first place. THE MAKERS. Most of these games are clearly labeled, and there is no excuse for downloading them, other than the obvious. |

I can just see this thread getting hundreds more replies and degenerating into a flame war, but against my better judgement I'm going to post anyway. =P
Hell, look at how screwed up american society is because of our sex education programs. I wouldn't know about American sex ed programs, but the ones I've gone through in Australia certainly didn't do anyone any harm. It helped dispel a lot of myths that various people in our class believed to be true. I'm sure several people in our class who otherwise might have caught STDs or got teen pregnancies will now be spared those fates due to what they learned. I really don't see how that can screw up a society. |

Our sex-ed consisted of a sudden, and unwared shot of a baby shooting out of a woman, a 80's video on AIDS (which I might add furthered the idea that only gays got AIDS), and the school nurse blowing up a condom. That's about it. Didn't tell you ANYTHING.
[EDIT] I didn't mean to imply that sex-education was the sole reason, because it isn't, but it certainly helps. |
