FYI, the "Wiccan Religion" didn't exist in any form until the 1930s and didn't exist in a concrete form until the 1950s. Oh, yes, I know, "Wicca is the world's oldest religion."

A lot of pseudopagans and wanna-blessed-be's go around repeating that like it's gospel... but the fact is, the term Wicca was invented by a femininst scholar in the 1930s from an old word "wicce" (meaning "wise person", and yes, the purported root word of "witch", but never before attached to a specific religion... the "wicce" was the wise person of the village, whether they were an herbalist, a religious official of any religion, or just an elder councilor with loads of experience)... a man named Gardener, influenced heavily by Aleister Crowley and the rites of the Golden Dawn co-opted used the term for his own syncretic (meaning, cobbled together from this and that) religion, which originally was very secretive and had as many strictures as Christianity.

Over time, the term Wicca has been co-co-opted by a number of different people and now, thanks to the internet, it means "Whatever I want to believe in for the minute, whether it's faeries and unicorns and vampires or the Bright Lady or the Blessed Mother or just feeling good about myself and if you try to tell me otherwise you're a bigot and the burning times NEVER AGAIN!"

The fact that modern Wicca has borrowed the gods and goddesses of a score of ancient religions is seen as "proof" that Wicca always existed ("We worship Gaia, and Gaia worship predates Zeus!"), but the simple fact is that Wicca is a modern religion, as much of an invention as Discordianism, and at this point in time, far more of a joke.

Then you prove that Allah, Yoda, and Vishnu don't exist. You "know" that some thing created the universe, so you've latched onto one explanation that is no more logical, no more proveable, and no more likely than any other (no less, but no more.) This is what the Principia is talking about when it discusses the "aneristic universe"... such improvable beings, by the nature of their improveability and their negligent* impact on the universe both exist and don't exist... a concept you're enamored of but clearly lack any depth of understanding for.

And I'm well aware that the core message of Christianity is that no amount of human goodness is enough to make up for human weakness and that only by embracing Jesus can we get to heaven. That's a terrible, evil, vile message... that there's no point in doing good! You said this is what's wrong with atheism, but it's the core message of Christianity! On top of that, anyone who tries to do good is mocked! Even making an effort to be good is laughable and worthless!

On top of that, it's nonsensical. God makes humans flawed. Then He punishes humans for the flaws He created. Then He wants to forgive humans for being flawed, but He can't. What's that? CAN'T? God CAN'T? He has to send His son to shed His blood so that we can be washed clean by this "blood covering", or else God CAN'T be in our presence? God CAN'T? God HAS TO? I'm sorry, we are talking about God here, aren't we?

Apparently, the universe has this rule where God can't pardon sins without being given blood? That's the God of goodness we're talking about, right? And small blood sacrifices used to work as a temporary fix in old testamenty times, but they don't anymore? And God is so bound by this rule that He has to make a really big blood sacrifice Himself to get things going again? We ARE still talking about God, right?

So He comes to earth in the form of Jesus, who is a separate person and a man at the same time as being God and the son of God... that's pretty easy to believe, if you've got flexibility of perspective. Now comes the tricky part... even though He knows what's gonna happen, even though He's immortal and can come back from the dead at will, even though He orchestrated the whole thing knowing full well that death is nothing to God... dying for our sins is somehow a big sacrifice?

Now, how exactly did He die "for our sins?" It was "for our sins" because of the whole blood thing. Well, who made up the blood rule? Wasn't that God? If it was, then He didn't die for our sins, He died for the sake of keeping up His whole weird blood theme. Points for consistency, if nothing else. If it wasn't God... well, then God ain't exactly God.

I think it's possible that everything in the Bible happened the way the Bible says it did. Remotely possible, but still possible. If so, then the being described is not God, just a tiny manifestation of God. God is by nature omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, and perfect. The God of the Bible is bound by rules, by physicalities, and by human-like fits of emotion. The Bible SAYS that He's everywhere and in everything and perfect... same way that Greek stories about the Gods would start by saying Zeus the all-mighty and all-knowing. But just like the Greek stories... as soon as the Bible stories get going, you see that God is a powerful but limited anthropomorphic character, just like Zeus.

Don't believe me? Read the Old Testament, it's rife with it. God hears about things going on in Sodom, so He investigates to see if the things He has heard are true. This passes for omniscience these days?



*If an act of God can be attributed to natural forces, and natural forces can be attributed to God, and neither way can be proven, then the impact is the same whether God exists or not. As another example: your actions are motivated by your belief in God, the same way an Islamic zealots are motivated by belief in Allah. It doesn't change anything if either one of you is right or wrong: you still act the same way. No impact!

I'm not wiccan and even when i was i did not believe this bs that people believe it is today and i never did.

Indeed, i was being childish in my earlier posts by saying god doesn't exist. This cannot be proven, it can't be proven that he does and it can't be proven that he doesn't.
