I got suspended for 5 days on tuesday. No suprise what I got suspended for... WEED! I had a bowl on me and the suspended me for that, it sucked cause I wanted to smoke that. But hey I didn't even get in trouble from my parents for it, don't ask me how, it's a miracle. But I think it's pretty funny. Being suspended has been pretty boring but at least I get to sleep in. So uhhh... peace out yall.

All kidding aside this proves how shitty our punishment system is. Since despite doing something wrong it's obvious Sticky_Chronic doesn't think so and will probably continue his behaviour. The way lawsuits are in the United States punishments that can be given by a public school are far from strict or productive. It's not like he got caught by local law enforcement toking on a bowl. While I agree out of school suspension is pointless (especially when the parents aren't notified (?!?!?) or care) on a moral level many people don't consider smoking an illegal substance wrong. Sure, no one over the age of 16 or so considers it cool or something to brag about on a message board but it doesn't hurt society like most felonies. Instead of typing a whole lot more and deluding my point, I'll do something I've never done before (and probably will never do again) and use a south park quote: Randy: "Well, Stan, the truth is marijuana probably isn't gonna make you kill people, and ...it most likely isn't gonna fund terrorism, but... Well son, pot makes you feel fine with being bored and... It's when you're bored that you should be learning some new skill or discovering some new science or... being creative. If you smoke pot you may grow up to find out that you aren't good at anything." -- I do my best to stay out of discussions like this (ones where someone starts bragging about how they smoke weed and ended up paying the consequences for doing just that in a government where it's illegal). But, I couldn't help putting in my two cents about whether wacky weed is pure evil or not. |
Concerning the lawsuits in the US, there can be strict punishment. Choose a tech(computer)-related law and for the slightest offense that doesn't hurt a soul, you can go to jail for a nice long time.

I was referring to punishment public schools or school districts are able to give, not law enforcement. I can see how my wording was confusing. |
You should be glad your parents don't go by Maddox's philosophy!

(Note: The material on this site is kinda offensive in a South Park kind of way.)

[Edit:] I should note that I don't agree with Maddox I just think it's funny and somewhat relavent. But things should change so that punishment is harsh enough that it actually is an effective deterant.
