I don't know if this has been discussed before on the forum, it probably has, but the whole BYONDdime situation is frustrating. I don't have enough dimes to purchase stuff, I can't use PayPal, I was wondering if there was going to be another system or currency coming to BYOND.

But I thought they said that they were stopping the BYONDime system, because of fraud e.t.c. And somewhere, I am SURE they said that maybe, if they got more people of something, they might bring it back.

(In my opinion, free games that are a "labor of love" tend to be of better quality than pay-to-play games that were made to make money. Of course, if the designer adds some way for you to pay to get an advantage, that's different.) There should be enough free material on BYOND to keep people happy anyway... | |

beside..Byond dimes was really easy to do stuff... i dont care..if they need financially help to keep the dimes..i am willing to do any thing for DAn and Tom... but if people think oh its a rumor..they are wrong.. i have enough to help..:)i work for my own living..and i live with my g/f so nothing to worry about :)

I have an idea for a new currency system, how about just an online currency that has NOTHING to do with real-world cash, and you gain this "currency" from submitting demos, and getting them approved. The reviewers would have to judge fairly, and the currency would go to the "tellers" (hehe, I'm going crazy here...) and THEY would decide the amount of currency to give for that submitted thing. And, you could also buy things, like sources and icons and etc (like before). Except this time, these would be earned, as you would be gaining it from Developing. I don't see why the player of the games would need a currency system, as they don't require resources for games. And I KNOW games wouldn't be p2p(unless paypal donations, ofcourse). And, you could still donate to dantom, but you won't get more of it, since it would just be the same way as dimes. I just thought this off the top of my head, so if this is out of place, or would just cause another BYONDime incident, at all means, delete it. :)

I made that suggestiong for the developers of gamse, not the fans of them. People would just stick to one crappy game (sorry for the... insult, I would make a list of games I'm trying not to insult, but there is too many), and become "the best" in it. What I was aiming for, was to get people to TRY to build their own "net dreams". Aswell, as play/use others. Doing this, might also lower the number of zeta games, because those are mostly made for the BYONDimes.
