Okay heres the story. My computer is infected with a virus by the name of "Win32/Hantaner" It comes from Kazaa (Yeah I know, dont rub it in) and from what I've read its not harmfull so thats good, but my problem is deleting it. It's not letting me delete the thing. Has anyone had this and succesfully deleted it without formatting? Any help would be great. Thanks.
Get on AIM and I will send you a program that should be able to kill the proccess so you can further delete it.

waiting...
most modern, up-to-date, AntiVirus programs like AVG from grisoft can detect and move the virus to a "safe vault" where it can be then deleted. if it has already infected your machine, just do a search on your favorite search engine for the virus name and you should find a bunch of links for programs that will remove it.

I'd repeat what was said there, but I'm lazy, so I'm just linking to it.

Could you use the forum post-linking feature next time, so we don't have to scroll through the entire thing looking for the post you mean? o_0

Just type id:postnumber, like this (without the space)... id: 157477

Without the space, it automatically forms into a link, like so... [link]

Too lazy to highlight something. Clicking in the address bar highlights it all for me.

Well, don't be lazy. It takes one click more for you, and a bunch of time saved for us. (Keeping in mind that you can highlight the post number from a post by double-clicking on it, to select the whole "word".)

gee! that wasn't so hard now, was it? and it took less for me to create that than for you to type out the entire text above. you're not lazy - just blatantly annoying.

and if you are too lazy to help people in the easiest manner possible (easy for you and easy for the reader), then maybe you should not help people at all then, eh?
The words 'ha' and 'ha' spring to mind =P

Erm, Rushyo... Those are the same words... and they're not really words anyway... =P
Try booting into safe-mode and runing your anti-vrius program. if it's a tsr vrius like it sounds like it should allow you to remove it.

note: power down completey before going into safe-mode.
