remember the old days of BYOND, all the old layout? i remember being extremley confused, not knowing any of the DM code at all, but now ive sucessfully put out 2 demos, am making some of the new maps for The World game by blade, and am working on my own game on the side, do any of u guys remember when you were noobs? post your favorite memories of the old BYOND here (technically i still consider myself a noob though)

There wasn't much at all execpt A Taste of Dung, Night Soil, and a Chat program. There was no DBZ games well no fan games to be more specific, no icon trading programs. And at that time I learned that working in a group didn't work. By the time I wrote my first project to learn the language(CTF 1) the rest of the group had already vanished and our grand goals for the game faded away as I didn't feel like continueing the project alone. My key reports that it was created in 6/14/99 but it's a bit older than that since it was created back when you emailed dantom, then they manually made the key and sent it back via email. You also had to renew your key every so often which didn't seem to work for me so I just kept creating more keys Theodis2-Theodis10. So my oldest key that the people page reports is Theodis2 with 5/17/99. Which is an earlier date than Dan or Tom's key :). | |
Heh, I came around when there were just 2 DBZ games, DBEO and DBZ Spar. Then I decided to make a DBZ game, put it on the hub, didn't realize that I packaged it wrong, everybody got a newbie source code and thought they were hax0rs.

hey youv only been around a year longer then me, anyways im saying remember the black and blue layout? i think it was much better then this and some of the old games that used to be around have disapeared...anyways this thread isnt about how long youve been on byond, but for those that have been on long enough for them to remember the old layout and games and such
