Why does everyone keep complaining about the graphics? They are totally awsome! People are too used to games going for a movieish look, the majority of T.V. and movies are live action, but a percentage of them are cartoons. So why not make a percentage of video games cartoons? People keep saying they want video games to be more realistic, but I think this is one of the most realistic games ever made, it actually looks like what it's supposed to be, a cartoon. Once I see a video game with graphics that either you can't tell the difference between live action and the game(which I hope to see within the next 10-15 years) or at least something that looks like that Final Fantasy movie, BTW I'm talking about the actual gameplay.
I've heard lots of complaints about it being "cartoony". This strikes me as being about as useful as complaining about sugar being too sweet, or water being too wet--Zelda has always been fairly cartoony, and has generally been getting more and more cartoony with each iteration. Sure, Ocarina of Time on the N64 had a pretty damn cool design for grown-up Link, but look at some of the support characters--they might as well be throwing pies or having anvils dropped on them. The cel-shaded look is simply an attempt to refine the existing cartooniness inherent in Zelda to a purer form.

That said, while I support the style in general, I think the actual new design of Link makes him look like he was whapped upside the head with a stupid stick.

That's the ugliest looking Link I've ever seen. I'd have preferred a more traditional cel-shaded appearance, like the adult Link that appeared in the Legend of Zelda comic series (basically a spin-off production after they made A Link to the Past). (I do like the style of the game environment and of the game's baddies, however.)

What is Miyamoto's fascination with Link being a kid, anyway? (One thing comes to mind, but it'd probably be slanderous if I repeated it.) I found Ocarina of Time great just because the adult Link was freakin' cool. Once I got to that point in the game, I shuddered every time I had to switch back to the little kid (though I did have to admit that the floppy bunny ears were fun to use when running). Besides, cleaving Ganon in half was far more satisfying with Biggoron's Sword than it ever would have been with that tiny little Kokiri Sword -- especially when I was claiming to my friends that "I am Link" and beating the game with zero continues, rarely getting hit, and almost never getting knocked far enough down to need a fairy to revive me. The first time I played through, I used five continues (three during the fight with Ganon). Thereafter, I've never had to continue. =)

see, i didn't have problems with ganon because i found a good strategy, you just use nayrus love(or what ever) and then roll in between his legs and slash his tail, screw light arrows

I had to do the same thing when I ran out of arrows. =)

Ganon's second incarnation as the monster is far easier to beat than his first incarnation as Ganondorf -- the continues I used were during that first incarnation.

yup, its like playing tennis with an H-bomb, you miss and you die

yeah i pre-ordered the game too and im not basing it off of the main character or it being cel-shaded, i know miyamoto based the game off the cartoons he loved to watch as a child.

I like that analogy. I had trouble with his first incarnation as well.
does it look all cartoony? if it does im not interested. The first Zelda for N64 WAS A CLASSIC. It can't be beaten. I wish that I could go back and play it again for the first time. Another game like FF7, ANOTHER CLASSIC!

NO!!!!!! THEY RUINED THE GAME!

Classic? You keep using that word... I do not think it means what you think it means.

Okay, I've heard from almost everyone that "Oh, the game is going to suck" or "he looks so blankity blank stupid!". Well, I shall quote from my monthly gaming bible, the Gamepro. It states, as I quote:

"In nearly every interview he gave last year, Legend of Zelda producer Sigeru Miyamoto was asked the same question over and over. "What were you thinking when you made Zelda look like that?"

And Miyamoto, the most patient person in the industry, gave the same answer over and over: "Wait until you play the game before forming your opinion"

So we waited...and waited...and then Nintendo came through with the full Japanese version of Wind Waker. And now the fact is obvious: People should listen to Mr. Miyamoto more often."

I have actually played it, and I think it's going to go on my list of "Greatest games ever". The graphics were absolutely spectacular!!
So please quit whining until you actually do play the game. However, the game will not be for everyone... people that like crude, violent games will not like this "kiddish game". So... that's my opinion.

I have played the demo and just the feel of it is like no other game I have ever played, it feels so real yet it looks so cartoony(in a good way). I just can't wait. I'm glad to see at least one person agrees with me :D
Its called Legend of Zelda: The Wind Walker .Not waker.

the terms im using it in. It would mean a somewhat "unforgetable" game.

I never even used the sword on him in the second form. I maxed out on arrows and blue potions. I like using arrows =)

Nope, it's Wind Waker.

I tryed to find interesting ways to beat ganon. Try these:
1:Use the hookshot instead of light arrows (it works!)
2:Use bombchus
3:Use bombs
4:Try just running through his legs
5:Try to circle round so you can shoot his tail

Try to come up with other ways!
