Does anyone here take any type of martial art? I take Choy Li Fut(hence my key), it is a style of kung fu that uses both northern and southern styles. It uses the 5 animal styles and is very fun. I love the style but I don't really like the school, it is too westernized and runs more like a business then focusing on martial arts. I've been taking it for a year and I am almost at my green sash(the third one). I live in San Diego, CA and my Kung Fu school is White Dragon. I am 15 and am a sophmore in high school. Well thats just a little about me and my martial arts.

I use A martial art, but it is an uncertain art of reaction and kinetics. You perform this art by letting go and just becoming a part of your surrounding, it takes a lot of focus and mental conditioning, because as long as your worried about your "self" you can never become a part of your surroundings.

Wow Maz, you seem pretty young for someone that needs a form of a colostomy bag. You really shouldn't box with one of those, although throwing it at your opponent would be a useful tactic...

I take Tae kwon do. im a yellowbelt 2, and im prob gunna test for green belt in march. hope by st. patricks day...duh. i been doing it for about 7 months.

I reached purple belt in tae kwon do when I was 10. We didnt have enough money to continue though. If my brother and I would have continued, we would both be just about 2nd degree black belts, my father would most likely be an instructor up to 3rd(same as our instructor)degree black belt.

Sounds like ninjitsu. You may not use the same fighting techniques but that is the idea of ninjitsu, a very good martial art but not very practicle in our day, unless your a hitman or something that requires stealth.

Ever hear of the "Sit'On'Ass'For'Day" art? I have been studying it for a year or two now. Actually I have been teaching myself Chi related arts based on texts I have gathered, and they seem to be working well. I would like to find a place to learn Jeet Kune Du, but I have been unsuccessful for a long time.

I can shoot clay pidgeons with a 12 guage shot gun pretty well. After I warm up i can hit about 75-85% of them.

I practice Shoadow boxing as well as "Praying Mantis". With the first style its mainly offense, taking hard hits to deliever even more devestating blows. The second one though, is almost completely self defense. And with it I can defend myself well enough to paralyze a man from the neck down if he did something as simple as to try to give me a high five. And as for those colors: -White for rookies -Red for veterans -Black for experts -Army fatigue colored belts for instructors And as we go up rankings, we just get a small piece of tape on the tip of our belt. $~Stimulus~$ |
