I dont see why people like that kind of game.
I fail to see the fun in a game where you travel around a single map in single missions, looking for items and eventually having a huge city only to.. in the next mission, lose the city you worked so hard at.. i call these session games, and they arent worth a penny. they are a dime a dozen and cost less than 10000 dollars to make. much like the mortal kombat krap. Costs very little , they make very little changes, add very little features and sell a game as whole. Im surprised people havent cared it is very obvious that these companies are merely milking their consumers.. |

The whole point of games that mess with custom cities and delete them in the next round is so you can be different and creative everytime you play. StarCraft and WarCraft are spectacular games, and they are just this way. Truth be told those are some of the few games I ever get addicted to.

yes, and thats why they arent online. because games like that shouldnt be online, multiplayer yes.. but never online.
they dont deserve to occupy a large server. any half wit company can fart them out |

Actually they are on 1 massive server, people just host side servers. I guess like branches in a tree, battlenet itself is 1 server with a bunch of addresses to branch off their server, besides it would be almost impossible to have just one huge server with ongoing wars because when you leave your towns would be taken over since if they made you dissapear when you leave you could just leave before you die.

So many words can describe it, but I will say it in one word... superb. There was actually a discussion on WC3 on another forum that I'll give yall a link to the main site for it so you all can look up the day old topic, www.natural-selection.org, it's in the forums section someone was talking about WC3 versus StarCraft and do RTS suck?

Also; note to Dareb, the HoMM series don't take a large server up, you can go through a server which I have never done myself, as I normally either play "Hot Seat", which is multiplayer on one PC or I play via TCP/IP, which one computer connects to another, as you should know. Anyway, it's as it goes, everyone has a different personality and not everyone likes certain things, a wide-spread of people actually love the HoMM series besides me, as would people with Diablo, WarCraft, StarCraft, PlanetSide, Ultima Online, Dark Age of Camelot, Uplink, Unreal Tournaments, Unreal, Half Life (including its modifications), Disciples series (similar concepts to the HoMM series for those who do not know what this game is about), Age of Empires and the mass of other games out right now, those I just wrote are a mere less-than-1% of the games which are loved by many people world-wide. Back to you know FuZzY, do you still have HoMM4? If so, do you have any customised material, IE; unofficial maps, campaigns, utilities, etc... If you do, contact me on AIM via "Lebaria" as I will notify you of what I am in need of them for there. --Lee |
