The books were genious, but I read them YEARS before these movies were being made, and I felt that it is bringing the wrong crowd to love the series, my girlfriend hated the books, but now she 'loves' them because of the movie... pathetic...

Alien was a good movie... anyone feel like a game of space tug?

You can hit them with a bag of prunes too. Not as painful or deadly, but damn, it's embarassing!

No, I said it sucks.

I myself have a sword. Its crappy and mass-produced, and without wearin gloves youll stab yourself with a lose wire on the grip but its still very powerful.

I would never use it, i just like having it there in case the world goes to hell overnight.

Yea, I would like to see your crappy sword stop bullets in mid-air =P. Trust me, if the world went to hell over-night then there would be guns everywhere, no use for swords unless you can actually stop bullets with a sword and not injure your armor/hand or any other parts of your body.

I think you're seriously underestimating the value of melee combat. Guns are limited to ammunition (and, unlike the movies, you can only typically carry a clip or two on your person -- with a bandolier, you can carry around four, plus a few dozen bullets, which take several minutes to insert into spent clips). Swords are not limited to ammunition, and assuming you can close to several meters in range, you could hack someone to bits much faster than how fast a bullet would kill them.

Of course, this is all moot, since killing people, with swords or with guns, is very wrong.

It's not like you need more then one shot, you could disable a person if you hit them in one of their legs, not unless their planning on crawling they are useless by then, of course if you hit a part that doesn't really have many muscles then they might be able to walk still. Also a simple shot to the head will kill anything, or the heart also, it takes a couple of hacks from a sword to kill something. So you might kill like 2 people with a sword, but you can kill like 20 people with a gun. If you have an ammo strap you can carry quite a few clips at least 10 or so, each clip having about 12 shots for a pistol thats about 120 shots.

And now you're sorely overestimating the lethality of a weapon. Bullet wounds usually don't kill people themselves -- it's, more often than not, trauma and the blood loss that are derived from the wound (and lead-poisoning plays a big part too). I'd like to see you aim for the heart, which is about three-inches-square, or for the head, which is only about 1/6 of a person's body. Care to roll a six on a 1d6 every time you want to kill someone quickly? It just doesn't happen. If you're a sniper or sharpshooter, you'll have plenty of opportunity for a quick takedown, but sharpshooters and snipers were never known for being anywhere close to being in close-quarters combat.

Guns are deadly and dangerous, sure, but once you pluck out the chunk of lead, bandage the wound, and give a tranquilizer, it's possible to survive a shot to the head, even.

Alien is the name of the series, and of the movie that inspired Space Tug... "Aliens" is only the name of a single sequel:

Alien, Aliens, Alien III, Alien Ressurection, Alien vs. Predator, Alien vs. Terminator, Alien vs. Freddy, Alien vs. the Board of Education, etc.

Alien vs. the Board of Education, etc.

The only problem with that movie was that the alien was really outmatched. Poor xenomorph didn't stand a chance.

Really? I thought burting out of the judge's stomach made a pretty strong case for the teaching of evolution, even if it didn't do anything for integration.

Instead of mocking it I will explain the need to buy weaponry. Many men see something like a Katana and just stare at it for a bit thinking about how cool it would be to own one, this idiotic mind set makes us dish out a couple hundred dollars for a crappy sword. It's like, wow not many of my friends have this(yet) so I must buy it to feel supreme and cool! Then you have people who always feel like something bad is gonna happen and will require defense and weapons to protect themselves, those are the serious people who spend ours practicing with weapons and other things that have to do with defensive measurements.

The third and proper category of people is: "Smart enough to realise that a sword, a gun, or any other weapon is a worse investment than common sense." =P
