A good idea would be to make a byond Magazine that u could sucribe to too get every month. In it it could have like a coding section anouncing any new demos or librarys or give coding snipits. And it could have a games section where it would rate the byond games and give a discription of them.

I would definantly get a year subscription if u had it.
Me too, as long as it was good

When I bite into a york peppermint patty, I suddenly realize that I`m allergic to mint!
I too would suscribe. I would get a lifetime subscription. =]

I would too, *sigh*
if only
Are you psychic? I have it on very good authority that such a magazine is very close to being launched. Watch for the announcement - from what I hear, it will be well worth the subscription!

I most likely would

Good idea...I think Dantom should throw this together and put it out, mmm, tomorrow!
The idea is interesting, but paper magazines take money. How many subscribers would there be in total and would it be enough to make a profit? (Dantom probably have enough going on to not bother with something that merely breaks even.)

If the magazine is electronic, some of the infrastructure is there. However, there is a risk of dividing the audience since there is so much available for free. Which services would Dantom provide for free and which would people have to pay for? You risk losing a lot of your audience when you move to paid subscriptions.

An electronic fan magazine could do all of this. The problem then would be to "simply" be "good enough" to keep a sizeable subscriber base. (BTW, who would pay for an electronic magazine that only updates once a month?)

In the end it might be better to just use a BYOND fan site for info. The creator gets street cred and the ability to update whenever he/she/it feels like it, but no money. The users get a nice source of information for free, but can't count on scheduled updates. (It could also possibly take some of the workload off of BYOND servers.)

Geez, why dont you propose a Newsletter contest, have the contestants make a newsletter, put it on their site, post a link, and have people vote on the newsletters, then contestant with the best one is Incharge of making, and maintaining the Newsletter everymonth

but then again, what do i know?

Whats a Pillsverry anyways?

You bring up some excellent points. Unfortunately, it's after midnight on New Year's Eve -- which is to say, it's very early in the morning on New Year's Day -- and I'm running out of steam (and using my friend's Internet access), so I'll save a point-by-point response for another time. For now, I'll just say that anyone who wants to put together an "e-zine" focused on BYOND has my blessings, whether they update daily or monthly; but on the other hand, I think it is a good idea for BYOND to have an official organ for the dissemination of information, entertainment, and best of all, infotainment. To that end, tomorrow I intend to flip the Big Switch. HA ha ha ha haaaa!

I'm pretty sure the child protection act won't let us have an official organ around here.

I hope you don't mind me asking, but what percentage of those 120 dimes goes to Dantom? Just curious...

Oho, my clever "security through obscurity" tactics appear to have failed! Well, no matter. It's too late to stop us now!

As for the allocation of funds, in general it'll depend on how much people contribute to the project. But there may be some kind of special feudal tribute for Dantom.

I'll open the floodgates in a few hours...

isnt it supposed to be pillsbury? as in the doughboy of the all famous delicious cookies? I figure it to be a typo, since the v key is next to the b key =\

To be fair, I'm probably the one to blame for this security breach. I let something slip a week or so back to Theodis and Xooxer -- Theodis already knew, Xooxer didn't. =)
In response to Spuzzum
Well, that's not entirely true...

I did know about it before you mentioned it, Spuzzum. I found a link to it hidden away somewhere in the bowels of BYOND...

I think it was in Your Identity under the Page Channels listing...

Ah, I see... phew! =)

Well, I found out through the "distrubution" part of my hub entry.
