Most of us have the dreams of becoming the greatest game maker, but i wanna talk about now. People say yeah i can make the best game ever and think they can do it then just trash it half way throught making it. Like Fireking stop doing eternal world, ebonshadow stop doing DBZ-spar, lots of us do it. The problem is we can't see our limits, most newbies are saying coding is hard asking for help, them the better people are basicly pissing themselves.If you help them you can be learning yourself. Some of us help while others don't, i look around seeing people trying to get all there fame to themself and not others.
Just think of other people who are new to BYOND and are asking help. I thank most of you doing the Tutorials, Demos and Libaries. I guess maybe i talking outta my arse, but i find i can't stand people just doing everything for themselves and not others as i said. So can i just ask for you to help others.
p.s i think now loads of you are saying i'm talking bullshit and haven't a clue about anything (which is partly true). i'm expecting lots of messages, saying EVIL things to me, but i don't care i've just wasted my 13 years of life. I just hope the rest of my life i can do good to the world.

The problem isn't just that you don't get anything quantifiable by helping people... heck, I don't get anything quantifiable for doing most of the things I like to do anyways! The problem is that a lot of people out there aren't looking for teachers, they're looking for slaves. They don't care about how it's done--they just want someone to do it, and they make it abundantly clear that that's what they want. If someone's going to boss me around for trying to help them, call me stupid when they can't follow instructions, and blatantly lie about what they're trying because they're too stuck-up to admit that they might be doing it wrong (even though, paradoxically enough, they have no qualms about hitting up every single person on their pager list begging for help)... I'm not going to help them. And looking around at what's going on, I have it sweet compared to what some of the more experienced and better known people have to put up with. | |
Considering your post is incoherent enough that I have no idea what you're saying (and incidentally, you really should've posted it in Babble), I'm guessing it's not going to go a long way toward doing good in the world.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, if they can't put the effort into asking for help (as in, no "hlp me plz!!") then I'm not going to help them. I do however, find it somewhat enjoyable to deride them because of their abuse of english.

told ya everyone is gonna say i talk bull****, i'll shut up now. It's good to help people, and good to encourage others to help people. But I think on the whole, the people who are willing to help are already helping as much as they can. For example, check out the Code Problems and Newbie Central boards -- most of the questions posted there get answered pretty quickly. I guess the question is: what should people be doing that isn't already being done? | |
They should be reading the FAQ, ZBT tutorial, Guide, and Reference before they start asking so many dumb questions, that's what!
