I don't know if anyone is in the market for a new laptop above netbook level, but I really have to recommend the one I just purchased.

It's a gateway NV53, I purchased for 499.99

2.0 ghz athlon II dual core
4 gb ram
500 gb hdd
wireless b/g/n(no bluetooth)
integrated AMD graphics(better than intel, but what do you expect for 500 dollars?)

Things I really like:

The keyboard has larger than average buttons for a laptop, makes it a lot easier for fat fingers to type on.

15.6 inch screen, not too large to be portable, but with my poor as crap eyesight its a good size.

Overall it just has a really good feel for a laptop, better than most others I've come across(larger keyboard, very easy to see screen) and I would probably recommend it to anyone in the price range. If you would like to spend a bit more (about 579.99) you can get a new intel i3 processor instaed of the AMD; I prefer AMD to intel though so it wasnt really worth it, as well that bumps the screen up to 17 inches, larger than I really wanted.

Just my 2 cents on the matter, but if anyones in the market around the 500 dollar price point, its a good laptop.

Where'd you buy this at?

Just curious.

Best Buy. I bought it in store, but the price is the same on their website.
I have the NV7802U myself.

Everything but the processor/integrated graphics and screen size appears to be the same. I wasnt really going for the monster size screen though, but the display quality does seem to be very good with them.
