Yes, I know I could create a new directory. However, I am just reporting that this behavior can be a little more flexible. Just because you can work around something, doesn't mean the application cannot be flexible.

That is the problem. You may want to notice this thread has been moved to BYOND Features by a moderator, and a bit of common sense adds up that this is no longer a bug report but a feature suggestion. Therefore, he is suggesting that DreamMaker allows you to automatically create the directory for you instead of having to create it yourself. -- Data |

Creating a file i a non-existing folder just makes no sense at all. Indeed. But automatically creating the folder and then the file in it makes perfect sense, and lots of programs work in that way when a non-existent path is entered. Personally, I think that it should have a create a folder option, but not do it on it's own. That could be inconvenient yes, but, again like a lot of other programs, you could have it that if the "OK" button is pressed and the path entered doesn't exist, a dialog could pop up stating so and asking whether to create the directory or not. That's a nice little convenience feature, but not really required, the BYOND Staff (tm) will probably prefer to better use their time to work on other things. |
