Okay, well, as some of you know, I had to restore my entire hard drive due to some problems. I put my creations back onto my computer, but I cannot get to them for some reason. I downloaded a demo just to see what would happen. I could open it, but I could not get to it through my files. Usually, all I would have to do is go to C:/Program Files/BYOND/MyHub/Cavern.

Now, when I download the demo and go to File/Open, it says it is in: C:/Documents and Settings/My Name/Application Data/BYOND/MyHub.

Now, the problem is, I do not have the Application Data folder. Why is that? I can still get to my BYOND folder via the Program Files but it does not have the MyHub folder. When I get to My Name folder, there is no Application Data folder even though it says I need to get through there in order to get to the My Hub folder. I need help. Thanks.

Also, the "My Name" folder does not actually say "My Name". It says my actual name, I just do not like random people knowing my name, so I replaced it with that for this post.
It's a hidden folder. Try copy and pasting that right into explorer.
The Application Data folder is, stupidly, hidden. Why Windows hides this folder when it's so important I'll never know. You can always unhide it, or, as I do, just make Windows show you hidden folders.

The idea of hiding crucial system stuff is brainless anyway, because it treats users like idiots. Granted, many users have no need to know about the guts of their computer, and many wouldn't know what to do with that information, but it's not a good idea to hide it. That's kinda like welding the hood shut on your car. Microsoft doesn't get that computers are essentially a high-maintenance appliance, and users who care about keeping theirs up will want access to everything at the system level, just as in the old days.

Welcome to Microsoft's Windows, is this your first day?

Yeah, they hide stuff all over the place. And they love making those thumbs.db in every folder with a picture. Why can't those be located in a centralized folder so I don't get spammed with those on every OS I move the folders to. I can't even zip a folder with out them sticking in there. It's a little thing, but it really, really irks me.

Ah, okay, thanks. I got it. Is there a way to unhide the folder though?

The easy way, without showing all hidden would be to go into the hidden folder, then right click on the blank space and go to properties. There should be a check box for hidden.
Hidden folders and hidden files are annoying. That's why I unhide them all. And you CAN do that.
