Other nations don't have schools? I did not realise you could only learn English in the US.
That aside, no you don't need to go to school to learn English. I know a guy that came over from Ukraine that was taught our alphabet and then taught himself English by comparing a bible in his language with a bible written in English. Of course that took a long time, didn't do a thorough job, and I'm not saying anyone at all should do that; I'm just giving an extreme example for the fact that you don't need to go to school to learn English. As a related example, I'm currently in college for a degree in computer science, and I already knew the majority of what my first three semesters' of CS classes were about. No, I did not learn it in high school, or in any school for that matter. I started teaching myself with an ancient C64 my dad bought at a store that was selling tons of used ones for $20 each, then when we finally got into the modern day of computing (no, we couldn't afford a computer, but we had the random blessing of a gift computer when someone else upgraded to a new one) I worked hard to find the resources (free internet resources mostly) to continue my own education. Speaking of college, and to get back onto the topic, as I said my family is not middle class and is far from rich. My parents cannot and do not pay for any of my college education, so my financial background has not been helped any by being a non-minority. I pay for it entirely on my own with a minimum wage job I went out and got for myself. I now am getting a decent education at a local community college, and I have paid for every penny of it so far out of my own wallet with the money I worked hard to earn. If I can do it, then anyone else who can secure even a minimum wage job, and who isn't so stupid they rush out of their parents house to increase their financial burden at the first possible moment, can also do it. And they should. It's not fair to those of us who actually pull our own weight in the nation to see someone else get a freebie on account that he/she doesn't feel like going the extra mile, or even an inch. If they can't get an education even from a relatively low-cost college, although there are a few exceptions it is probably because that person isn't trying. If you can do the extremely few and simple things I've mentioned but yet do not, then you either do not deserve to be here or you are a unique case; if the latter, then you are one of the very few who might deserve a free lunch, but you don't deserve it because of your racial background. If you want to hear about some immigrants who are doing it right, and if I may give yet another example, there is a group of immigrants from Mexico in my area who came over together and now live together and live smart in order to pull themselves up. Living together keeps down their cost of living, as they don't all have to pay for seperate homes, they carpool to get around, and they shop smart. And, not surprisingly, for doing things the smart way they are better off in the end. I currently work at a grocery store, so I can tell you they don't use foodstamps also. Now this is exactly the kind of thing I'm talking about, the kind of minority we need more of, people who work hard and work smart instead of leaching off other people because they are supposedly oppressed. If someone is willing to work hard and to forego their dreamhome at the beginning, then they will be just fine. That works way better than stealing money from the people who do work hard and handing it out to everyone else. At work, I see people with foodstamps come through all the time buying the most expensive stuff. Clams, shrimp, expensive meat cuts, all the best name brand stuff. I can't afford that, and neither can the rest of my immediate family, so why should they be paying for this other lazy person to eat like a king and for their lazy kids to go to college? Let them pull their own weight too. |

Either way, if I were an employer I'd most likely higher the black. It would just be an easy way to avoid trouble, and businesses avoid complications where possible. Wth kind of reason is that to hire the black person? Thats like positive racism..What you do is hire the person that is more skilled for the jobor whoever came first, not the person most likely to sue you if they aren't hired.. |

White people could sue him. Discremnation should work both ways.

Exactly. If the white had more tangible skills he would be hired. If they are the same, he wont. Why? Then if it goes anywhere past the office it's easy to prove.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not for racism AT ALL. I have several black friends, and a dozen online. People just get so worked up about it that it works in reverse sometimes. |

Haha, worst example ever. =P No, best example ever, because I was going for the extreme. As I said, extremes are not the way to go, but I was just trying to get the point across that you don't need a school to learn something. It helps, but plenty of people learn without them. In fact, the people who actually want to learn end up learning just as much out of school. |

Because sometimes when you speak you might want to specify which group of people you are talking about.

kicking mexican workers out, when they are an integral part of the American working force now, is not the answer. but if it is, you'd better kick out 60% of the working-class population of the US too - Russians, Poles, Romanians, Italians, Jews, Germans, Irish, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, Koreans... But most of them aren't illegal. They are citizens. Border jumpers aren't. |

1. I never said you were. I know very well you aren't. You live with kangaroos. (Are they anywhere else in the world, excluding confinement?) 2. They do pay taxes on items they buy. We have tons of taxes here. 3. Reguardless, they have to pay it. 4. Well, many illegal immigrants are your criminals here. They can't make a very decent living anywhere else because they aren't supposed to even have jobs. And, it costs money to place them in jail and clean up your messes. I should have said "some" though. My fault. 5. No apparent reason? The reason is always apparent, it just may not be right. I know that we have no business in another country's welfare, but we like to help out anyway. Because in smaller countries, they don't have wars. They have genocide. 6. Very nice point. You are right about the taxes I suppose. I never thought of that. 7. No. |

I'm working on a solution. Not like our government will do anything about it. They care more about the rights of those who aren't even a citizen of this country.

Since it becamse hard for Americans to get jobs because the illegal immigrants take them for lower wages. Not the general economy, but economy of the people of the working class.

Rap is a crappy excuse for music. I guess it's supposed to be cool because some guy talks to a beat, saying things like "word up nigga I am rider dirty". And the way they call each other "nigga" is pretty stupid. If I said that, I'd get beat up by some gang. They'd all go for me at once.
Y'know why? Because I am white. It's okay for them to clal each other disciminatory words, but not for me. |

Heh, a couple of movies with people describing criminals use the term "dark skinned".

Remember Donte, "I'm not black, I'm just a n*gg**." =P

I don't like to be called dark-skinned or any of those, why don't we try calling me a person? =P
